    Next SoCal Meet???

Unfortunately/Fortunately, I was at the dealer buying my Magnum the day of the first SoCal Meeting.

Any of the SoCal people interested in meeting for the Street Legal Drags on September 18th?

Regardless of whether or not there is a meet, I definitely plan to go because I want to see what my car can do.

Where are you located? Where is the race at?

What car did you buy? When are you getting it? Or did you get it right away off the lot?

I'm in south Orange County. The race is in Fontana at California Speedway. It's the same event as this past weekend, Street Legal Drags.

Bought a silver Magnum RT right off the lot.

    I love it!

I might be in for that. I know my exhaust will be done and I'll put my stock wheels on this time and see what it changes. I doubt the CAI FROM K&N will be ready yet though...as of right now he's tellin me no. I'd still like to get together with more magnums again, it was pretty cool hangin out watchin different things race.

Big Daddy, how did you do last weekend? Did you race? Who else raced?
How long was the wait to run, and between runs?

They jacked me on any kind of race. The first time I ran with a late 90's firebird with so many mods it had a hard time starting. He ran a mid 12 something with a 1.8x something 60'...he had a good launch. Second time around I really got screwed. We were lining up and it was looking like I was going to be set with a nissan sentra with some mods that I earlier saw run a high 14 something. Then they pull him out and slide in this nice caged, tubbed, slicked Nova II with a guy wearing a full fire suit and helmet. He ran a 10.90 at like 136mph. SO yea at half track for me he was just about finished..lol.

Bummer... you would think they would want to have good races and line up people accordingly.

unless you have someone you specifically want to race and line up together, you get paired up randomly. if there are enough cars, they usually split the domestics and the imports. it would be a mess trying to pair up cars evenly. once you go and race you'll understand why.

that's why it's always more fun to go with a GROUP of people with the same car. even if they don't have the same car, it's always more fun racing someone you know.

of course, if you're the slowest of the bunch it's not as fun.
