    Las Vegas Trip

Is it time to start planning the Las Vegas Trip?

Wouldn't it be great to have the LX owners FROM Arizona, California, Nevada, and other nearby areas get together in Vegas? Should we emulate the new england GROUP BY inviting LH owners?

Rogordx FROM Vegas is interested, those of us FROM Southern California are interested, and am sure others maybe in.

I guess maybe if the turn out is going to be large, maybe we cn get a dodge/chrysler dealership in Vegas in on the meet.

Maybe we can also meet at the Las Vegas Speedway.

Get special hotel discount FROM Hilton or someone like that with a big enough parking area?

I don't think anything special happens in October, so would that be a good time to meet out there? October 15-17 sounds great to me.

October 28 may be too crowded and crazy as the NHRA AC/Delco Nationals will be on that weekend.

    What do you all think?

We had a 300M Enthusiasts Club meeting last year in Vegas. We used the Speedway Casino in North Las Vegas for the social. It's about 5 miles FROM the Strip and 5 miles FROM the speedway. They're accustomed to working with car clubs.

They really treated us right on great catered snack food (bottomless plates) in return for purchasing a few pitchers of beer. We had a car SHOW and judging in the parking lot (plenty of room). There's also a Ramada Inn right next door with pretty decent rates.

That's what most everyone did at the 300M meet. We looked INTO trying to get rooms booked at one of the Strip hotels so everyone could stay at the same place, but it proved too difficult to try to get everyone to agree on one hotel. Everyone seems to have their own favorite. So .... we just met at the Speedway Casino at the appointed time on Friday evening and had a great time.

Not much going on at the Speedway in October. Of course, they have class races at the Bullring all through October (http://www.lvms.com/track_info/bullring/schedule/.)

Isn't the AC/Delco NHRA Nationals in late late October?

You are absolutely correct. It's Oct 28th thru 31st. I was looking at the short version of the schedule. Here is the full schedule for the strip for the rest of the year
    http://www.lvms.com/track_info/strip/schedule/

Looks like one day tickets (on-line purchase) are $42 general admission or $53 for reserved bleacher seating. Weekend packages are $126.

If this comes together, I'd be willing to work with Speedway Casino to organize a social on Friday or Saturday evening. Last year they gave us use of their live entertainment area for the early part of the evening. I'd say we probably need 15 to 20 people to make it work. If I recall correctly, we had to purchase 10 pitchers of beer/soda at $5 a pop (plus gratuity), and they provided three different snack food selections (salad, wings and something else). It was a terrific deal. Of course I can't guarantee the same deal, but I'd give it my best shot.

I'm assuming this would be both Magnums and 300s. I'm sure we could pull people FROM the 300c forums board as well.

I'd talk to E55 about that, he's an admin there.

Why not plan it around the SEMA SHOW in Vegas the 2nd through the 5th of November. That would be a good time because that is the biggest auto accessory show, and you know that the Magnum will be a hot car there.

If I'm not mistaken, SEMA isn't open to the general public, right? I'm sure it isn't that hard to get tickets though since I've heard of car clubs attending. Not criticizing your idea. It's actually good, because maybe we could talk to vendors about future products.

I would too... that would be awesome to attend.

If I get a head count I could call VIP services for one of the hotels I frequent (Mandalay bay, Luxor, etc) and possibly get a deal on rooms...

I think we should put someone in charge of this event, and delegate some of the tasks to others... Do we have any volunteers?

    Las Vegas Trip

I too am FROM Las Vegas. Found this on the SEMA page. "The SEMA SHOW and AAPEX are trade events and only qualified members of the automotive aftermarket industry are permitted to attend. " I even called and car club members are not allowed. Will continue to look for tickets.
