Tell me if this is a good price

Hey guys, just signed up. Looking to get my gf a Magnum. I found a 55k 05 Hemi, Inferno Red on grey leather, sunroof, CD changer, everything but Navi and tow package. The car is clean and only needs new tires. He has it for $17,250. It seems that the Hemi cars go for $20k or more.

    Thanks,

    Doug D

My wife picked up her Magnum RT with 30,000 miles for $21,000 from a private seller.

It's not bad of a price, but that is alot of miles on there..even with the 7/70 warranty..which is usually a plus for the 05's.
I guess if you are looking to stay below $20k for a hemi, you would have to go that high up in mileage.
If I were you, before buying...stick around here...read as much as you can. Find out what the build date of the 05 your looking at is. Check out our TSB section...and ask alot of questions. And welcome!
And if you want to spend more than $20k ....you can always look at my RT for sale (another shameless plug slipped in)....
    http://www.lxforums.com/board/showth...102#post579102 Sorry I had to! ;-)
    Take care,
    Christopher

Thanks guys, I already have two hot rods as money pits

Are some build dates better/worse then others in 05? Anything I need to look at in particular on these cars?

    Thanks,

Some of the younger build dates had more issues than the newer ones. Trans leaks, right hand pulls...if you look at the TSB section, you can see a few of them. I've heard others say, MOST of the bugs had been worked out by 2/05 build dates....Some guys with earlier build dates never reported any issues either....
They ARE great cars.....That's why I have two!
    Take care,
    Christopher

Yeah I've just read through them, doesn't look too bad for the first year of a car.

I'm a mechanic so none of this is a worry to me. Plus this site is a HUGE resource for when stuff does go bad.

Do you guys have a sticky for requests for carfax's on this site?
