Rear Hatch Won't open

Hello,

I have a 2006 R/T that has a rear hatch that stopped working last week. I can open it sometimes after repeated tries.

Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone have a suggestion of fix for it?

There was similar post for this same problem...need to keep searching this topic.

I recall that the solution involved climbing into the back of the Magnum and I believe there is a plastic cover on the on the inside of the hatch that you can remove and gain access to the assembly that latches the hatch down.

I spent most of the afternoon working on it. I have the back panel remove and have been al over the locking mechanism. I think either the outside handle isn't working or the solenoid that pushes the locking arm isn't working.

I searched for a similar problem and all I found was information of adding the unlock button to the dash.

I'll keep searching.
