After a very long wait and much confusion I finally have a VON for my ORDER and a final print out of options. Basically, I ordered the car and paid deposit on 9/21/04. After various confusions I decided to add the UConnect and the newly available(?) Trailer Tow Group. First sales guy left the dealership leaving me with an unfamiliar salesman to deal with. We finally got everything straight and a got the final print out today.

I am getting a MAGNUM RT AWD through the employee program. After that I think a went a bit overboard, but this is my first new car and I really wanted to get it right.

I pretty much consider the car fully loaded, and I know that I paid more than aftermarket, but like I said, first new car, and I really am paranoid regarding voiding warranties by making non-dealer modifications.

I do have aftermarket modification plans for exhaust, rear dvd, rims/wheels and the automatic liftgate if a good method is ever discovered to be done after manufacturer warranty has expired. The only aftermarket accessory I am seriously considering is Wet Okole seat covers for the front and rear seats. I also was considering trying to get some credit for the one year Sirius towards a lifetime plan.

My Magnum will be an everyday vehicle with minimum of about 400-500 miles per week. With trips and extended drives I will likely put on 30,000 miles per year. Obviously, I am planning to follow the heavy usage maintenance schedule. I had considered synthetic, but I am likely to stick with the manufacturers standard. The only exception that I make is to always use premium gasoline regardless of the questionable benefits. My car will be garage kept and covered when parked for extended periods of time.

The car is in BG status with no estimated ship date, but I at least have a VON so I know that it is definitely on order. I am still hoping to get it before February/March, but it does not seem like you can tell with these things. Currently, it is looking like I am getting the first magnum in my neighborhood and one of only three or four currently in my area.

This car is replacing a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis LS (work vehicle) and will join my wife's 2004 Mini Cooper.

The only real confusion that I have on the car is whether or not it is safe to use a low power pressure cleaner on the vehicle after each drive and between weekend washes. This is Florida and many of the bugs in this area and the sea salt can cause horrific damage to the paint. I had considered giving it a rinse every few days, but I was not sure what the most efficient method would be. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    WOW

That's a huge dealer accessory list. I kept expecting to find scotchguard, undercoating, and an extra ticket to the Gopher's hockey game.

Congrats on the order, you'll love it.
