Question New R/T AWD; wider and lower??

I picked up an '06 Magnum R/T AWD yesterday.

I like the R/T RWD wheels a lot, but don't care for the AWD rims. I've been looking over the posts trying to see what my options are. Has anyone actually put 20"x10" rims on an AWD? My understanding is that the only difference between RWD and AWD wheels is the offset (about 25mm vs. 45mm). Also, as the wheel gets wider, the offset should change to fir properly. So on a wider rim, the offset probably should no longer be 45mm. Any wheel geometry gurus out there?

Also, has anyone found a reasonable way to lower an AWD? I'd love to drop it about 1-1/2".

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and advice.

    Rick

Rick , The best way I have found to lower an AWD is with Coil over shocks. They are however expensive but offer superior performance and adjustability. There are a couple of coil spring mfg out there but the ride and eveness is not that great and you will end up making other suspension mods to make it sit right, ride decent and handle well. On your control panel you can sort on the subject and find a lot of info on this fantastic forum.

Welcome. Did you order the RT AWD from the factory or did you buy it off the lot or through dealer locate? I ordered mine from the factory and in that limbo wait state for a while before they build it.

Welcome from another AWD owner. Wheel selection is limited, no doubt. Haven't seen too many lowered AWD's either. There is a spring kit available, but I haven't heard any feedback about it.
