Question New to the Board; SRT8 Owner2b

    Hey there,

I guess I should have posted here first since I'm a newbie. I just found this forum a few days ago and I've been here everyday since. You guys are truly a valuable resource. I may have mentioned in my first post that I'm going through the corporate repurchase process on my '05 STS due to an electrical problem that's gone unresolved for the past 12 months! So as soon as that's wrapped up I'll be purchasing a Magnum SRT8. I read somewhere that the '05 has a longer warranty than the '06. Can any of you confirm that? If so what are the warranties for '05 vs. '06. And what do you all think is a good price for a new '05 and a new '06. I've been quoted $36,460 for an '06 with no special options packages.

    Thanks,

    Erik

    Welcome to the forum!

The '06 does not have the 7/70 warranty only 3/36.

Hello from our 300C in WV! Glad you finally found us. The '05s have a 7/70k powertrain warranty to go with the 3/36k bump-to-bump. The '06s have only 3/36k on everything... however, both models can be covered by an extended warranty. I guess with the '05s, you can get the extended to go 8/100k on the powertrain... so that's a little bit different, but only a little.

    Welcome from another newbie,

I can not say enough about this car, even though I have only had mine for 3 days, 400 km's. 350 of which have been in wonderful winter conditions. This car actually handles quite well in the snow with the TCS and EPS activated.

Not sure what a good price is in the US, however, mine came in at approx. $48,000.00 Canadian plus taxes.

    Enjoy!

Welcome to the forums, Esq2b! Regarding the price, I'll assume you are purchasing in SoCal, in which case, if the car is new and not a demo or anything, that appears to be a VERY good price for an SRT.
