The last time I refused a beer I didn't understand the question.
Yeah, I guess! Last of 3 sons, bought the others older cars, then had to trade them for something better, so thought we would start out with a better car right away for this one. Wasn't quite ready to buy, but the dealer offered me wholesale price, couldn't pass it up. But wondering what, if any problems, people have had.
You will find most here are VERY satisfied with the SXT. Mine is over a year old and 13k and I grin everytime I drive it. This is also a very safe car. SXt has esp and 5 star crash rating. Several have had a few good licks here ,car damage but no one hurt seriously. That would be one of my concerns with a young driver.

Yes, safety has been a big concern with our young drivers, so that is why the Magnum is a top choice.
I absolutely love mine. It will be as perfect a ride for a 16yr old as it is for this 37 year old. The ONLY problem I had with my 05 SXT was the right pull issue. (If you don't know the right pull issue is exactly what it says, some pull to the right, dealers try to tell you it's road crown, but it isn't) An alignment, covered by warranty, fixed the issue. 12000 happy miles later I'm still trackin straight and getting lots of looks. The V6 will pull its own weight and keep him from getting in too much trouble at the same time. ESP is a huge bonus for the SXT over the SE as well.
If the car you're looking at doesn't have the foglights (probably doesn't if it's an 05) that is the single biggest exterior appearance mod you can do for the Magnum. IMHO. Better for driving too.
sent you a PM North Dad
Just got done test driving the SXT and no pull, absolutely a great, quiet ride. We don't see many Magnums up here in the snow country, but with the ESP, I found it to handle great, even on snowy/icy roadways.
It does not have fog lights, any idea how much it costs to put them in?
I live in Nova Scotia and love my SXT, with the ESP on it is as safe as and FWD in the snow! great CAR!
I've seen prices for $300 all in for the foglights. Personally i bought the Kit from our vendor, you can also get from your dealer, for $109 I think. I installed in an hour and a half, then had to take to the dealer for them to activate. That was $35.
If you're buying from a dealer you could always suggest that they install and activate as part of the deal.
The kit is about 100-125 and the dealer has to starscan the computer to enable them (another 35 or so). Several of us have put them on ourselvesOriginally Posted by northdad
