    The King Has Arrived!

    Good looking site!

For those of you who don't know me, I am King Winky or The King, its a long story as to how I got that name, maybe I'll relate it sometime. I guess you could call me Matt, too, but The King has a better ring to it.

I currently drive a 2002 Ford Escort SE, but I am no stranger to the LH/LX line of cars, as my previous, and much loved vehicle was a 1994 Chrylser LHS. Hopefully a couple years from now I'll be able to pick up an off lease Magnum R/T or 300C, gotta have that Hemi!

Anyway, that is me, you'll see me around as I'll be your friendly neighbourhood moderator in a couple sections here, and I hope to contribute whatever I can.

    Later!

In 2001 my wife and I were the owners of a 1994 Chrysler LHS, and when looking for a website to get more information, maintenance procedures, etc, for the car I stumbled accross a fledgling site, www.dodgeintrepid.net and joined, after reading that the LHS was built on the same platform.

Fast forward to 2003. By now I am a respected (at least in my own mind) moderator and DodgeIntrepid.net is planning its first International Meet, a meet that will eventually become legendary. During the course of planning a member suggested that we should have name tags. (http://www.dodgeintrepid.net/forums...ead.php?t=19151) Not liking the idea, I jokingly said if someone were to bring tags, I would put one on, but with the name King Winky-Doodle-Pants.

I should have known. JoeKD (a prominent and fellow founding member) decided to print up some name tags with that name and bring them along. Being a man of my word, I wore one for the entire meet. Hilarity did ensue. Especially at the liquor store where I got an understanding nod when I informed the cashier I was in town for a car club meet, and at the classy restaraunt when I kept on being refered to as "His Highness".

Ever since, the name has stuck, because of the name tag and because of the incredible amount of alcohol I managed to consume without seriously injuring myself, and the antics to retrieve me from a bathroom stall afterwards.

Over time is has just been shortened to The King. TehKing came about because DodgeIntrepid.net has an IRC chat room, and when logging on I never noticed I spelled "The" incorrectly, and the name stuck.

Good use of "Photochop" in those commercials. But the "King Kong" commercial, where the King if like 50 feet tall is kinda disturbing.

Ahhhhhhhh.....................and i was expecting a story along the lines of "there was this one time".........and ending with "so the moral of the story....."

but in all reality it was a mere alcoholic stumble to make the name stick.....
i actually enjoy those stories a hell of alot more than your usual "let me tell you about that one time....." story..........oh well CHEERS =)

I thought (according to forum rules) that the use of words "King Winky-Doodle-Pants" would send you to the Abyss. Am I right?
