    Just had to have it.

I'm not a gear head or even a car aficionado, but the magnum for some reason just really appeals to me both in style in performance, and it was easy to sell my wife because it was a wagon(ha-ha, silly wives). Well, this friday I'm heading to Canada to pickup an 06 SRT-8 inferno red magnum. With the slumping economy and strong US dollar in Canada I couldn't pass it up. The car has never been driven in the winter, always stored and covered in a garage and has approximately 22k miles. After doing about 3 months of price and vehicle research, I was able to get this car on an Ebay auction for a total of $17,900(US). It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but that's not what I wanted to buy the car for anyways.

It's pretty much a done deal (bought sight unseen), but are there some major issues I should be wary of? I can walk away if there the car is not as described or I detect some severe abuse. As I mentioned earlier, I'm not a car expert by any stretch of the imagination. So, other then doing the basics of checking for leaking fluids, excessive brake wear, uneven tire wear(backs are bald, fronts are good) etc., what could be some tell tale signs for the mechanical soundness?

On a stock Magnum, I wouldn't expect more than a leaky transmission O-ring and excessive brake dust.

    Good luck!

EDIT: You're buying a HEMI. You should absolutely expect some bald-ass rear tires! lol

ill double that remark. and on a stock car i would just look for visible damage...i.e. scratches dents etc. drive it. you shouldnt hear any strange noises other than the tires sqealing and exhaust blasting.

good luck with you new ride. welcome from oak harbor, washington
