    Howdy...

I am currently between Mopars; the last time I needed a new car the only way to get V8 power and rear wheel drive was a Ford Crown Victoria. However, I do want to get back in a Chrysler product again. While open to suggestion, I must say I would think more of the "Charger"/300/Magnum if it could be had with bench seats and a column shifter. Will be watching the Forums.

    Welcome Plain Old Dave!!
Is the bench seat requirement just for cuddling up with your Girl while driving??
You would appreciate the seats on the LX vehicles, they help keep you and your passengers from being plastered against the door or each other whlie cornering and are very comfortable.

    Well, that too....

Well, my '68 Chrysler 300, my '69 A100 Van, my '75 NYer Brougham, my '78 Cordobas, my '80 Mirada, my '80 Volare, and my '86 Diplomat all had bench seats and I never had any problems staying in position. Bucket seats and floor shift have their place, just not in a big American car. Consoles get in the way of Amateur Radio, too. Nowhere to mount the mobile rig...

weLXome there from TN!!! I have had several cars with bench seats... The main plus I find is that there is nothing to get in the way of horizontal movement!!

from Az. You'll love the comfort of the bucket. Benches are not for the sport of LX's. So I don't think your going to find a bench.

Hm. "comfort" and "bucket seats" were never 2 words I would think to use together. Still, I am looking into an LX to replace the CV when she wears out.

Welcome Plain Old Dave As far as a shifter not on the floor, you'll have to wait for a police car auction in a couple of years. They don't even make cops sit on bench seats anymore though! lol
