Dodge newb ready and accounted for sir!

Hello folks, I'm picking up my Cool Vanilla RT today, also today I'm trading in my 5 year old BMW skirt chaser (been married for 4 years and just had our first baby Nov 17th) for a nice down payment on the RT extra money left over for rims and tires, I already have Eibach springs, K&N intake and the Magnaflow exhaust system sitting in the garage waiting to be put on. Although I think I'll hold off until the rims and tires arrive next week before I do any work on the car. Looking forward to Dynatech header to cat system they are supposed to be releasing around the jan/feb 2005 time period, as well as hoping to see somebody come out with a reprogrammer around the beginning of 2005. I have been INTO aftermarket stereo sound since I was 16, now at 31, the stock RT system isn't terrible, but it's not the **** either. I think for ease on my knuckles, I'm going to throw in a 10" sub and amp and call it quits for now. Maybe in a years time I'll look INTO splurging on a better set of speakers and multi channel high end amp.

Folks, I can't wait to get started on the Magnum, I haven't been this stoked to work on a car since I bought the BMW 5 years ago and I had all the parts sitting in my dorm room at Ramstein AFB Germany weeks before the car was even delivered to me!

Glad to be here.....have already found the "DIY" section on the lowering springs, and the knowledge base area for the bluetooth phones to be of great help in picking up a new phone for the cars u-connect system.

Also scared ****less about the tranny leak problem a couple folks in here have complained about!

Here's my poon mobile.....about to get traded in for the cool dad mobile :D

    Welcome to the group!

You should not be scared of the car. The dealership and Chrysler are kind of a different story.

I was one of the two with the tranny problem. Dude, it was a simple problem that could have been fixed faster than I am typing this posting. It took so long because Chrysler did not pony up the $10 part for 3 weeks. We now know that if it happens to anyone else then go to the Mercedes Benz dealership, get the parts and give it to the Dodge Dealer.

Just wondering why you wouldn't wait till 1,000 miles at least before modding your car?

Don't see a reason for waiting to install mods, I'll still break it in right. Only thing is I have a beater pickup for the daily grind, so the car will live in the garage until the spring comes and washes the road salts away FROM the overzealous salt deploying MD DOT crews. I still think I'll hold off installing anything until the rims/tires SHOW up, and if it's just going to sit until better weather, I might hold off putting anything on until the dynatech header system shows up and maybe even when the eibach sways come out.

But I still don't see the reason for waiting for 1000 regular wear before getting under the car to install anything....rather do it now while it's still clean

And I haven't had the "pleasure" of dealing with DCX yet as far as the dealerships REPAIR and service, but I know BMW stealerships pretty well.....and they are the biggest crooks and bunch of a-holes you will ever deal with, atleast in my (and most of my other bmw fanatics out there)

    a couple things :!:

1st) The dealer went and pissed me off last night when I went to pick it up expecting for it to be done like they swore it would be....and it twasn't, somebody forgot to ORDER the trim panel that goes around the dvd nav when they ordered the dvd nav.... :x

2nd) I just brought the car home and installed my first mod....a baby seat base to take the little shyte on a evening cruise tonight and CHECK out the eccentric and their virtual x-mas light lands in their front yards...they might be eccentric and wierd for putting in the time to install as many lights as the Griswalds, but I'm dumb enough to go see them (or cheap enough, because I refuse to pay $5 a carload to drive through the BIGTIME x-mas light shows they do at your local park)

3rd) This things kicks total ass, I got a chance to squash a 2003-4 3.5L Nissan Maxima with a fart can exhaust....poor kid thought he had a chance

To recap, strike one for dealership, good ride for baby, and good for squashing bugs (but no screwing around and running it with the little one in it)

    I love this damn thing!!!!!!

thanks ddgmgnmrt, I didn't mind my bmw, never had an issue with it other than the sunroof coming off it's track once. But I know plenty of folks who have had issues with the particular model I had.....but if you congragate on a forum dedicated to that type of vehicle, your view will be a little scewed towards hearing all the bad that the enthusiasts experience.

I'll take pics of the new ride tomorrow if the sun shows itself, but for now, it looks like every other cool vanilla rt running around. I can't wait to get the new rims and tires, along with the eibach drop....then the pics will flow!!

On the way home FROM sight seeing, a guy in a dodge dakota I think it was, if it was a older ram, they definitely look bigger now then they did 4-5 years ago. I'm pretty sure it was a dakota, but he was tailing me around checking out the RT, and he had some exhaust on it, don't know what kind of engine, if they have the 5.9L magnum engine or a 4.7L, but he had a nice tone, and he made sure to pull along side me and DROP a gear and hammer it....sounded oh so mean. I really like the sound the dodge/borla setup somebody put a clip to on this site, but I want mine to sound that loud AFTER I put on the headers....I can't imagine the note that borla system would put off with the dynatech headers, I want to hear it, but don't want to be deafened by it for owning it....I must be getting old
