Crashed my Grand Prix, now looking at a Magnum R/T

Hello all, My name is JJ and this seems to be a pretty awesome furom from what I can see so far!

Exactly three weeks ago I crashed my 06 Pontiac Grand Prix, supercharged with a few mods. The car appears to be totaled, so i'm just waiting for a check. In the mean time I have a pretty slow g6 rental (4 banger).

So mean while i've been test driving cars and I have it down to two cars. It's either a Magnum R/T or another Grand Prix, except this time the V8 GXP. I've always loved the R/T so now i'm thinking it'll happen. Before I make a decision, I thought I would ask a few things...?

Is there a certian year to aviod....?

    Any stock 1/4 times....PLease!!!?

And i'm just alittle curious how these rods take the simplest mods (exhaust, intake, tune.)

    Howdy!

Very low 14s are attainable from a stock R/T, the best bang for the buck performance mod would be the Diablo Predator.

    Welcome in!

I too drove a 96 Gran Prix until it was just falling apart around me. My 05 Magnum RT is the best car overall I have yet owned. You can probably find a good deal on an loaded 07 by now, if you are patient. I would suggest trying to find one with option groups I & II though, and If you were to find an 08 at a reasonable price, the MyGig radio and Nav will work in it if it's not already present. What ever you come up with you will enjoy it, believe me. Good luck!

Welcome from Edmonton Alberta. Usually I avoid the first year of any new vehicle, let them get the bugs out. There are a few changes to the 08 that means some accessories (05 - 07) won't fit. LX's are easy to mod and lots of after market parts for them. Needless to say , that on the LX forums we will recommend a Maggie! Happy hunting
