Whats up!

Looking at getting a 05 Magnum this weekend. Anything I should know about these cars (problems, maintence)? Any suggestions would help.

Item to remember is only the 05's originally came with a 7/70 drivetrain warranty. I think it can be transferred once so talk to your dealer as there may be paperwork involved that must be filed within so many days of purchase if you are eligible!

Indeed. If you'll be the second owner, it'll cost something like $150 to transfer the warranty into your name and you'll get the balance of the warranty.

My 05 Magnum R/T has been problem free since I got it in Janary of 2008. They are excellent vehicles and problems are minor and generally reliability is excellent. Several members have 150k+ on their Hemi Magnums without major repairs. Check the carfax, take a nice test drive and if all is well, there should be no reason you won't love this car for many years to come.

Ditto on the above! As the original owner of mine since 2004, I had the early run problems (pull to the right, tire wear issues, passenger airbag sensors) but by now any of the early problems will have of course been fixed. Since then, the car has not had to return to the dealer except for the few things I have broken Though I do not have the miles on mine like some (I just hit 50K) it has been extremely reliable and of course a BLAST to drive. Plus, I still have people gawking and stopping to talk about the car. You can probably pick one up fairly inexpensive and then start moddin!

I have an early production 05 (June 04 build date) and I still love it. The ONLY issue is that those built prior to Aug 04 have a Trans Control Module (TCM) that will not work completely with the programmers. If yu obuy an 07 or later (~$200) it will plug in and all the controls of the programmer will work. That is the only thing I can think of.

You are right on the money! I have had the car for about a week now and I am loving it but I want more power. The car came w/ a home made CAI and magnaflow exhaust. I am debating if I want to get a new CAI (Stage 2 AFE)?? I dont want to void the warranty so I am looking into wheels and suspension packages. The car feels a little sloppy corning and lane changing on the highway so I am looking into some ways of improving the car in that area (sway bars, STB, coilovers). Again you all are great already.
