    Wideband A/F ratios questions/comments

I installed a NGK A/F monitor during the weekend. I followed NGK's instructions to the T on how to calibrated it. The only problem I had with the install was finding a power lead that powers up only when the car is running. Solved the issue by just powering it with a switch for on and off.

Whats should my A/F at idle? Mine kinds goes up and down in the ranges from 14.70:1 to 14.20:1.

Whats should my A/F be at while am driving? Mine is always on the 14's.

When I go WOT my A/F never goes over 12.0:1. Its always on the 11's. I am really happy with that becuase I ask PMT for a rich tune to keep it safe with my cam/heads cambo.

At idle and cruising it will sway back and forth always looking for 14.7.

WOT rich you are. Could be leaned out but you are def safe.

    Mike,

I know I super rich but I rather keep it safe. I got to much money on my ride already. Hopefully I can get it dailed in better maybe so I can stay at the high 11's A/F ratio. There some rpm ranges that I see 11.2's to 11.4's. This was a base tune from PMT created per my mods and requests. PMT can surely cook up a good tune from scratch.

yup adaptives are shooting for 14.7 at idle and based on throttle percentage...part of getting better emissions and mpg out of these cars.

12.5 would be plenty of rich, even with your mods! You can actually introduce a false knock if you make it too rich. We saw that a few times tuning on Friday.

we need pics of how/where you mounted the new toy!

I thought this car came with A/F ratio's on the 10's stock.

I logged my current tune and noticed that I am having knock only on my lower rpms 2200 to about 3200 rpms give or take. Then is goes to 0. Then I get a .5 at 6000 rpms then back to 0 at the shift point at 6400rpms. (Just from the top of my head)

In regards to where I mount it I just have on the side of the drivers seat and I just pull it up from under and put so i can see it. I didnt take any pics so far but when I go home again next weekend I will take some pics for you all to see.

Very good piece of information. I noticed the same thing using the hand held. Glad you saw it too.

11's are PLENTY safe. Yes, stock cals can dip into the 10's for cat and piston protection on many vehicles.

Aim for mid 12's and you should be good.
