Where do I get a darn thermostat?!

Had Adavance Auto Parts look it up, they didn't have one. Matter of fact, they couldn't get ANY that would fit our cars...

Autozone has the 4127 number as a Duralast unit... Not MotoRad...
Also couldn't get the Robert Shaw...

What part number is the Napa for the 4127?

I've been ruuning a NAPA #165. It's a 180, will throw a code if it's cold enough (once the outside temp is above 30 it's fine) though, opens at 179.

the napa number is 191 for their 180* thermostat. i am using a Milodon high flow 180 for a Mopar. it is the same size for the last 45 years.

So the Napa 191 is the same as the Motorad 4127? Well, not the SAME but the same flow and temp?

isn't the motorad 4127 a 170* thermostat? it is also a high flow? the napa 191 is the bottom of the line as far as thermostats go. i used the napa 191 for over a year before i switched to a Milodon high flow piece.

The ones from Autozone go by different names with the part numbers 4127 (the 170*) and 4128 (the 180*). As far as I understand, they're all the same.
The 170* t-stats generally run at 176*... I've been running one from Autozone for months and haven't had a problem.

    Edit:
Great t-stat info from Meister here:

i just got the 4128 valuecraft tstat from autzone. It says valuecraft on the box, but it should say motorad on the tstat. The 4127 is the robertshaw, they sell it at autozone, but they will probably have to special order it. If can order the 4128 off the autozone website, instead of putting in you cars info when your looking for a part, type in the part number which are 4128 and 4127. I suggest you get the 4128, you run more of a risk of getting codes with the 4127

The 4127 or 4128 Robert Shaw both come in value craft boxes. The 180 is good and I hardly threw a code, but now I use the 170 and always have the light on, and have to use my ds programmer to clear the code, but it always comes back. And usually you'll have to order it, only took about two days. But I would only recommend the Robert Shaw, from what I hear its the only thermostat that has a fail safe.

Neo, do a search here. Meister did a very nice write up. If I recall, you have to tell the Auto Zone attendant to go to the special order section in the computer and type in 4128.I did this and they found it,ordered it, and I had it in several days. No codes and a easy install.

I did do that... They told me they wouldn't give it to me because I would get 10 mpg, run with a CEL and my performance would suffer... That was two different Autozones... I hate Oklahoma for this sort of crap... They only have trucks with Flowmasters in this state...
