    What Headers to Purchase?

It's header time and I am trying to decide which ones to purchase. I have an 06 Daytona with a Borla cat-back system allready installed. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks. Albert

If you're not planning on doing any work inside the engine, short tubes will be fine. If you're planning on building it up, ever, invest in the longtubes. You lose a couple lb-ft of low end torque but have the potential for higher horsepower up high where it really matters. As far as manufacturers, I know Kooks makes awesome stuff, don't have any experience w/ the other guys.

Yeah, I couldn't decide between long tubes or shorties, I certainly would like to play with cam and heads eventually so sounds like long tubes are the way. My car is lowerered on Eibach springs, any concerns with ground clearance when using long tubes? Thanks for the input..

I guess I have a bit of a biased opinion, I went with KOOKS. Before I bought my headers I did a lot of checking on the tube size, tube length (equal or not), collector type, cats, ease of install, etc.

There's lots of headers out there. There are lots less than KOOKS but, you get what you pay for. KOOKS will run you about $1500.00 regular price from our forum vendors. When someone is running a sale they sometimes take $200-$300 off on group buys. Some else to think about on KOOKS, they come with gaskets, bolts, O2 sensor wire extenders and high flow cats. Another thing abouts the cats is they are made as an integral part of the collector. The cats also come with the rear O2 extenders made on to eliminate the dreaded after cat CEL. The collectors are a ball and socket gasketless type with a 2 bolt retainer flange too. The headers also line up perfect with no need for head bolt reaming or concern about clearances.

    Good luck on your decision

I'm still concerned about clearance underneath the car. It's so low now that I can't pull forward in a parking place too far because my subframe will hit the curb before my tires touch! I guess this subframe would be lower than my new longtube headers anyway. Thanks again for the input, Albert
