    Tuning ?'s

Ok, looking to see what's available for the LX market tuning, so far here is what I have found.

    - B&G pcms & tcms
    - Superchips
    - Engine parameter Scanning only devices
    - MSD timing twister

    - Do they sell MAF translators for these vehicles?

    - Is there any personal programming peripherals out there yet for these vehicles, I take it as a no but just curious?

    - Are there any other tuning devices out there for these vehicles?

Thanks in advance for any input,
    Adam

MAF retrofit, I wish they had that, so that my mods would matter instead of just looking and sounding good.

B&G is new to me (and pricey), but it sounds like they kick butt, superchips is good because they read and clear codes, log data, times... and is cheaper (but they don't have programming for running 180 thermostat, which is getting on my nerves).
I wish I knew wether B&G kicks a$s more than SC or (performancewise), perhaps someone who's had both can give us some comparison, I would appreciate it.

    - B&G pcms & tcms THE way to go. Proven dyno gains, great preset parameters, and custom configs as well.

    - Superchips Good God no. Not after the issues SOME have had, and after the B&G came out, there's simply no reason to go this route.

    - Engine parameter Scanning only devices

    - MSD timing twister

    - Do they sell MAF translators for these vehicles? I know of one member that has said he has a special MAF setup, but I believe this is on a fully built Stroker.

    - Is there any personal programming peripherals out there yet for these vehicles, I take it as a no but just curious?

    - Are there any other tuning devices out there for these vehicles? There WAS one, but just before it released it was announced her eon the forums, and DCX sent them a cease & desist letter. It was going to unlock EVERYTHING imaginable. Good ole DCX, greedier that you can possibly fathom.

Thanks in advance for any input,
    Adam

Last GIFO proved S/C tuner yielded absolutely no gains, and no increase in 1/4 mile performance.

B&G has been dyno tested by members and has yielded as much as a 30rwhp gain.

Hard to believe that, when I use SC, I feel more torque and power, tranny shifts faster and harder.

Perhaps when I finally go to the track I'll do 2 runs stock and 2 runs with SC.

I believe the SC produced no HP gains, but it did produce 20lbs of Tq. in gains.

Heres what was said about the SC Tuner from GIFO4 "Speaking about the Superchips… horsepower wise we can’t really claim there is a benefit. The number seem to indicate there is one of about 5, but the variability between runs thanks to the tuner makes this tough to assert as fact. However, take a look at the torque numbers. Over a stock tune, it seems the 91 is worth around 20 ft/lbs! Pretty stinkin impressive."

So, I think its fairly well established that the SC Tuner does add torque gains.

It's also established that there were no real benefits at the track.

At least the B&G is proven to give actual gains.

So, there is really no fine tuning devices out there for the customer ! I see the A/F ratio charts from dyno's all over the board, I would love to see what these guys could do with a flat 13:1 A/F ratio. Guess I will wait dillegently for some tuning devices from the vendors .

There are always piggybacks like the SMT and PSC for the A/F at WOT your after. It wont get an exact streamline a/f but get's her in the ballpark.

That's been my experience too. 0.08 from the tune and the other 0.12 from reduced torque management. Three runs in all configurations.

Have a link to said devices? Haven't found a ton more than what I listed.
