    Too much torque!

Ok so I had a great day at the track yesterday....full bottle over 950psi and a DA of about 3500'. My first run was a 13.13 @108.53 mph! Holy crap this could be the day I see 110 or a 12.99! Anyway I get back up and come out of the hole again but when I hit the button....nothing but wheel spin! I still had a 13.33 @108mph but when the traction control kicked in it kindof scared me....you know motor goes boom because of N20 and no fuel.

Anyway I went back up for the 3rd and final run and figured I got into a little water last time. This time I made sure I avoided the water....out of the hole and hit the button and same story nothing but wheel spin...big time....I got out of the throttle and back into it and pulled out a 13.45 @ 107mph... . It was a cool day with a little wind but I have never had this problem before....I guess I need to do a small burn out....what do you think? I will try again next time and hopefully no wheel spin. I guess the moral of the story is I have to much power now for the Proxes and no burn out. Later.

How did you take off? how much tire pressure do you run with...Did you spray right away? I know if i get a little excited on the line...I can break the tires loose and thats it for that run....I now go to the line brake torque my car to 1000 rpm's...third yellow i left off the brake and ease into the gas pedal...i get always and i mean always a 2.0 60ft ...I want better but if i try i spin so you know what im consistant this way anyways...LOL...i ran a best of 12.9@110 and very consistant 13.0....all the time....Im installing the ZEX kit in 2 weeks i will take off the same way and hit it either in the top of 1st or as soon as i hit 2nd gear....I hope this helps you...

Yeah.....LOL..i get excited easy..... ..But on a serious note It all depends on your Launch Technique..for Ex..look at HEMI31...street tires and 1.8's all day long 12.4's He can drive ..I wish i knew how to take off like he does...My car would be a little faster then it is now...Think about 2.0 vs 1.8 that could be about another .2-.3 tenths faster time wise for my car...So it is how you Launch...It takes practice...I have a very bad habit...I used to have a 62 impala 2 piece driveshaft i used to break them all of the time so i used to feather it out of the whole ...So i guess that is still stuck in my brain....

I had about 26-28lbs in the tires and I spray "dirty" as soon as the tach hits 2500rpm...I have some problems rolling into the throttle I usually just stab it. The tire spin is not when I launch it is when I hit the button which is usually past the 60' mark or around the top of 1st. It was hitting extra hard yesterday. Alot of people were having problems hooking up yesterday...with the wind the guys spraying the burn out area were being to generous...it was blowing all over...also thier was a little rain in the air but not much. 2 weeks ago it felt like it wanted to break loose but never did...this is the first time.

Ya...I guess the stock wheel and tires will have to come down and out to the track with me...mine as well burn them up.

And I know they aren't done for fun....just this heavy boat has never needed a burn out before yesterday....none of the LX's have done any out at the track here....I am at 3500 not sea level.

So on that would I have to do some huge smokin burn out or just a small one to get them a little warm? I imagine sitting around so long between runs doesn't help any either.

It Kinda sounds like bad track prep yesterday.....I would heat the tires up for like 3-5 seconds roll out of the burnout to get the tires cleaned off and go from there....See if that helps

Window switch with gear lockout may be a wise investment, also to prevent ye old intake backfires also, spraying outa the hole can be costly.

I assume you aren't going to the TPS... If we could get that working well, you won't have to worry about spraying into a partial throttle during wheel spin.

No I am using the TPS and there was no backfire issues I was just scared with what I had heard about hitting the revlimmiter and what not. For the most part the car ran great...like a raped ape! After the traction control kicked in I hammered it again and off I went. I think the Zex did its job well.

So you do have it off the TPS what wire did you use? I guess it works fine....Becuase alot of people dont use the TPS they use the APPS switch near the gas pedal...do you use a button too or just arm in and then it activates itself? or you have a rpm switch?..

You know i think the TPS is what saved you really it didnt spray when the thorttle backed down...I just was thinking about that sitting here...LOL.....
