    My dad's looked like that, and he cleaned it with tb cleaner from advanced auto, his was the extra oil from the intake, as it was red.

    all throttle bodies eventually look like that. this is not just an LX condition.

    mines looked similar, to that a few weeks ago when i cleaned my engine bay, i took off the intake tube and th back of the throttle plate was black, cleaned it up with some carb cleaner, but didnt take off the throttle body to get deeper in there i just sprayed some down there...

    What's causing this? Does the PCV fumes go through the TB? I thought just air went through it. Seems like that should go to intake not the TB. I guess I'm pretty ignorant about my own car :(

    to remove the TB like that , its only those 4 bomts correct, noting to worry about in removing it, ide like to clean mines a lil deeper...

    I dont know about bomts but 4 10mm bolts and 1 connector

    I will be running another can of BG throttle Body cleaner through the system.

    I use BG 44k in the gas tank and the TB cleaner is a spray.

    Given how tight the AH install was Ill pull that AIT and spray in from there, but I am not liking the build up in the back of the plenum.

    I think Ill be looking into getting a 5.7 Intake (new) and doing some mods to it to see about getting this to stay a bit cleaner. I am actually do for emissions testing this year so I am good for 2 years after that

    oh ok, yeah i use the chevron with techron concentrated fuel system cleaner, in the tank, and TB/carb cleaner in the TB.. but ide like to get further behind the TB to try and clean that out best as possible as well..

    and there still some tarnishing on the plate..mines wasnt that severe i guess , cause after i cleaned it out, it looked brand new again..

    Well that first pic is after I have it a spray and a wipe, there was nothing metal showing on the back of that plate.
