    Stealth Nitrous Install

Hey guys an gals, I'm looking at installing a Zex N2O kit in my CSRT8, but i really have to be discreet about it. I'm hoping some of you out there may have some advice/experience on how to hide this from view as best as possible. I think the bottle will fit under the hard carpet cover, but would really like to keep the contoller out of sight under the hood. I know i could always cover the braided lines in plastic tubing, any ideas?

P.S Any pics would be greatly aprreciated! Thanks all!

    I can send some pics.

-I mounted my controller and window switch under my filter on the CAI shield. Can't see it unless you know its there. Used DIN mount terminal blocks to bus the power.

-The main power switch is in the center console on a lighted cigarette lighter plug. The wires from that run to the terminal blocks and busses power to the controller and window switch.

My bottle is mounted above the floor only because it didn't quite fit under the floor when pointed towards the front of the car. Would require mounting it sideways.

When I did my original ZEX install I mounted the controller and purge behind the brake master cylinder. I tried to hide the nozzle under the air box but is would not fit because the lines would be to close to the power steering pulley.

A real stelth way to install the nozzle would be to use one of the throttle body plates that are available. If you use the throtle body plate you could run the lines under the engine cover and then get a firewall cover to hide everything.

I did a pretty stealth switch and button install too.

My purge sprays out just under the right wiper. I drilled a hole in the cowl cover for the line. Here's a pic of the line route. I also have a pic of my switch set up. The switches in the console are for no ESP, Bottle heater and purge.

This is before I cut the line to size.

Here is my switch set up. I also put in a second power jack.

Everything goes through a trailer connector for quick disconnect if I ever need to remove the console. The no ESP has a seperate quick disconnect on the switch.

Great set up. Thanks for the pics. Do you have any pics with the cowling in place? Any thoughts of a LED purge light?

I am thinking if you have an intake like the Airhammer you can drill two holes in it at the bottom close to where the filter is it and where its not easily visual. Then you can put two 90' fittings from the inside out..just exposing two connectors to connect your nos and fuel to it. Then you run your nos and fuel lines inside the intake to just before your tb. There you would have to make a braket to hold the nozzle. The braket can be welded in place or tightin by a bolt from the outside to a nut welded to the bracket.

I am lucky and have my bottle in the rear in the tire well....can't see that. As far as the controller I put it in the Volant box under the filter you can't see it at all. I covered the lines with split vacume hoses so even if you are looking you can't see them very well. I had some guy ask where they were one time...had to point them out.

As far as the switches I ran all the switches in the cup holder and made a custom plate to put them in. If the cup holder is closed you don't see a thing.

I put the purge underneath the air box and mounted it to the frame can't see it without taking off the cover underneath the car. I then ran the lines when I had the bumper cover off across the bumper frame and underneath the wheel well covers. I then cut out a small hole and poked the line through and painted them black. When I hit the button it sprays out both fender wells up in the air at and angle. Here are the pics I took of the install. Sorry no pics of the purge lines.

    Here's some of mine...

The rear wiper switch activates the system while the spray button hides in the console.

And the bottle is under the subfloor,I shortened the cooler as well...
