Actually, Vincent, the drone would be increased. Erik (Hemi31) put his SRT exhaust on his wife's RT and it was worse. They are designed differently, with the RT resonators being 'tuned' to cancel out the MDS sounds.

I've got the SRT exhaust on my RT, and there's absolutely no drone whatsoever. At cruise speed, it's as quiet as my original stock exhaust. Idle, and WOT however, are much deeper Although, I don't have MDS anymore, so I could be mistaken....

I'm fairly certain that the resonators are the same on all LX's. The diameter on the SRT resonator shrinks down to a 2.25......

The pipe diameters are 2 1/4" for the R/T (catback only the cats are 2 1/2") while the SRTs are 2 3/4". Indeed the pipes do shrink down @ the suitcase & resos, you could weld them on, but you will not be able to do a "slip fit" connection.

You have a Charger just as Dan does.Maggies are much more susceptible(sp)to drone since the rear interior is like the inside of a drum. You have alot more insulation with a Charger.

This is true - but I'm fairly certain this system is as quiet as my original system (road & track) at cruise speeds. It's almost dead silent, even with the rear seats folded down. I think I also read somewhere that the resos on both systems are the same. At idle, the SRT system is MUCH louder than my RT system was, which I attribute more to the 1/2" larger diameter tubing, and not the resos. It's very possible though that if I had MDS, it could be different.

Boy Howdy do the SRT8 only "Blastin Bobs" DRONE!

It's not so bad except between about 1800 & 2200 RPM when it drops out of MDS & starts pulling hard on all 8. (like going through the Adirondac) I was dropping the trans into 4th gear. The revs get up above 2200 & It does quiet down.

I'm going to try an old Harley Davidson trick & put some adjustable washers in the tips for hi-way cruise situations.
