I have an opportunity to purchase an cat back SRT exhaust. My wife has a 3.5L Charger and has two exhaust cut outs in the the rear bumper cover with only one exhaust pipe. All I want to do is basically fill the other hole. Again this is my wife's car and not looking for performance or to spend a lot of money, it's more for cosmetics than anything and if she gets some nice sound, i'm sure she'll appreciate it. My questions are.....
What kind of cost am I looking at to get this installed at my local shop (ball park)?
I'm sure this has been done, pro's, con's?
TIA.

If you get it leave the resonators on IMO..the r/t exhaust doesnt sound good with resonators cut off again my opinion..id imagine the srt8 exhaust would sound worse being that its a larger diameter pipe. The only pro I can think of is the look of dual exhaust. The con would be weight. Cant tell you how much it would cost to install but id guess a little over a hundred with hangers and such.

I could be wrong, but it's my understanding that the SRT8 exhaust is too free flowing for the 3.5L. I wish there was a decent option for filling in the other hole, it's my biggest pet peeve about the looks of my car. Now I have two empty holes back there, I chose to go with a turn down.
I am sure if you do a search you will find a lot of reviews from people who have done this.
^^^^ I did search, its the first thing i do, but thanks anyway! BTW, didn't have much luck, thats why I asked.
I had an SXT. I would suggest just splitting the exhaust behind that, or some other muffler, maybe a Flowmaster 50 SUV, and going into the dual resonators. That's what I did.
If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?
Ive read that the exhaust isn't that great for a 3.5 because I wanted to the same thing when I had a 3.5. Like you lose alot in horsepower I cant remember exactly why?
That's what I was going to do, but damn, they wanted like $400 to do that. I can get the SRT cat back for $125 or so, then pay labor that should come out waaaay cheaper. And I'm really not looking for ANY type of drone, that's why I am staying away from Blastin Bobs or other cat back systems available, due to the drone. I don't want ANY drone, some can tolerate it, some can't, and I'm one of them.
Yeah, it's a 3.5L, not real concerned about performance, but I don't want to lose a crap load of HP or performance, there isn't much to lose how it is....LOL!
I've read a lot of people doing the R/T cat back exhaust on 3.5L's, but not the SRT cat back, I could only find one or two posts (without much information) that I could find someone doing this and I have PM'd both, with no response yet.
Yea it's better to go with a r/t catback by what I've read about this mod.
I think the loss with the srt8 was the back pressure but I can't really remember the exact reason.
Or just buy the blasting bob kit..can get a quiet one and have the dual look you want.
Just run a fake pipe and tip to the bumper cutout.
If you add that SRT pipe to an engine that can't move that much exhaust, your low RPM torque will be non existent.
it works but you'll lose low end..you'll really notice it going up hills on highways and such. When i ran 2.5 dual flowmaster 50..it felt like i was driving a car with a stall converter it took more gas pedal to move it going up hills.
Yeah.... Dont do it.... I got a free SRT8 Exhaust and paid about 250 to get it installed, different size pipe and blah blah... It has a lot of back pressure and feels kind of sluggish trying to hit the gas at low rpms and then when it shifted it sounded like someone farted when it realsed the pressure.... It was on my last challenger, if I were to do it all again, then i would just get a Y pipe with a flowmaster muffler. Might cost you about the same and sound a bit better, its not going to sound that good because its still a v6. But I would not go with the SRT exhaust... JMO

Not all of our kits have drone, that's why we have so many options.
I would also suggest not putting the SRT8 exhaust on a v-6.
What about finding a local guy with an RT and swapping? Put his RT on yours, put the SRT on his. Split the 125 between the two of you. You get an RT for like 65 bucks, he gets SRT for 65, everyone is happy.
Here comes change....
i agree with bob. dont put the srt exhaust on a v6. yeah, it way sound cool and all but you will loose power and tq on the low end. with these v6's its so easy to over exhaust them. itll cause more harm then good
