Thumbs up Sparkplug anti-foulers= Cel free for me so far

Well i have 500+ miles on them now which is very impressive because my cel lights (po420,430) with the dynatech headers would come on after a cel clearing every 75 miles or less. I was a non-believer but took Gremlinsteve's advice and a couple of others and took the plunge. Even if they only work every 500 miles for me that is gold because i will be able to pass emissions here in H-town.
I used the autozone spark plug antifoulers 18mm and used 2 per side(stacked) on the rear 02's only. They are in the help section and i beleive the part number is 42009. I used a 1/2 inch drill bit to drill the inside all the way out and installed. Will keep ya'll posted with mileage.

Ya, I got my fingers crossed right along with ya Mike - and I don't even have LT's. I've put almost 300 all-around miles after installing my second set of anti-foulers too. This is the longest I've gone CEL-free since I installed the MagnaFlow high flow cats... I know I'm not out of the woods yet, and I may very well see another CEL at any time, but I figure at least I've affected it, and it looks like I'm going in the right direction...

My thoughts exactly Bipto. In some way they DO effect the ride. Lets just hope it's at least as long as an oil change. I can live with 3 grand. Hell 500 miles is good enough for me.

So.... what exactly is it doing to prevent the CEL? I'm not clear at all on this...

It basically moves the 02 sensors out of the direct line of exhaust flow. With hi-flo cats/headers the exhaust flows much greater. CPU thinks there is too little of a discrepancy between the front and rear 02 sensors and throws a CEL. Thus they don't get all the blast comming out of the hi-flo cats and keeps the cpu happy. Some people say only 1 fowler works. I started with 2 and so far so good. May have to put three. There are also people who have used them to no avail. Kind of a hit or miss thing.

I will have to try this as well since I made it 40 miles before the CEL came on.....lol.The Kooks already have a tube that moves the 02 sensor 2" out of the stream......Meister said he used 2 antifoulers on his and the cel went away.Keeping my fingers crossed.

It ain't gonna hurt to try bro... I was a doubter. Not saying this is a cure but they def do something. I wonder if for those it's not working.. if instead of drilling the whole fowler out just drill the top part so the 02 sensor fits and left the bottom part alone with the small hole in it. This will obviously allow less air to the 02 and could solve problem but there are also a coulple of other ways it could be done.

You're in my head, Mike. I bought three sets a few weeks ago and I left one un-drilled so I could try just that - and that will be my next shot before I try stacking all three. Almost seems to me that with only a .25" hole to "breathe" through the sensor might run too cold, but I figured it was worth a shot...

I believe that's how Meisters are set up.

You got a point bipto they might run too cold but like you said if all else fails give her a shot. Hell... you could always stack two udrilled bottom anti-fowlers together and see what happens. Might throw a different code though.

All im looking for is a way to pass emissions. Last time i got lucky by clearing the cel with my superchips but the car didn't have enough trips on her to read . I put 75 miles on her and took her back and the car still wasn't ready but the chick gave me a break and passed me. Here you only get 2 shots at it and if the gal hadn't let her pass i woulda had to get the sticker some other way. Woulda cost a little more dough tho!!!
If these things work just enough to show me as ready.. than im happy..

I have several thousand miles now without a CEL for rear O2 sensors due to the anti-fowlers. They work!
