I am curious to hear how bad drone really sounds and what system you are running.
Thanks again for the help in advance.
I am in the same situation. I want to upgrade but I fear the drone.
My brother installed the JBA System on his Charger RT. Sounds great at idle and WOT, but driving though the city there is a lot of drone at certain RPM's The drone is also evident at the legal speed limit, go up or down a few MPH and it is gone. Like you posted it isn't only the drone that is the problem, it is the frequency of the exhaust note that causes other items in the car to vibrate. I saw that when riding in my brothers car with the JBA. The vibrations cause more annoyance than the sound. My brother spent a lot of money on sound deeding material. He lined the entire trunk (floor, sides and the vertical part that separates the rear seats from the trunk) and also installed it under the floor mats in the rear seats. It helped reduce the interior sound and the drone a little, but the vibrations were still there.
My contribution to this post is to suggest that you stay away from the JBA's if interior noise and vibration is a concern to you. I only have video of the JBA's from the outside, and I must say they sound sweet.
I have also been looking at the Corsa's, but like you said they cost about twice as much as other systems. I am hoping to find a member in my area that has the Corsa's installed so I can catch a ride and see what they are like from the inside in person. Until then I can not justify the expense and hope they have found a way to eliminate the drone.
