Only at hwy speeds. - sitting there or in slow traffic = no change.
I am running the "Prestone" which is actually the Cooper/Shaw. Get a good one with the air valve - do not mess with the cheapies.

yes, you will run cooler, the fan mod is really just to force cool the engine. I am running a robert shaw #383170, it's a 170* thermostat, have had it for a little over a year, no CEL's, It's also a fail safe type, meaning if the thermostat goes bad it will default to open, so that the worst that happens is your car would take a long time to heat up instead of overheat.....I think a lot of guys are running a 180*.....these are pretty much tried and true. I think I have just been lucky with the one I have.
silver steel metallic charger r/t...gone but not forgotten!
thanks for the info

The 4128 Motorad defnitely gets my vote. It's a 180 t-stat and I did get CEL on it's little brother the 170 model....
The 170 model runs just a degree or two too cool for HAL... not too cool for your car, mind you, but if you start your car and immediately start to cruise you will never get up to the 180 or 181 degrees required to avoid the CEL.
Edit: I run mine without the fan mod for now because I do tons of highway miles and very little around town. At one point I had the parts for the fan mod but not the time to install.... most of the parts got assimilated into my alarm/remote start installation though. heh.
Did the radiator cap mod: SRT8 is here....
