    Preditor Release Update

Talk about being between a rock and a hard place...

On one hand we have Diablo & HHP (where I joined the group buy) which both have good reputations here in these forums but as the delay time mounts seemingly small issues become large.

I just completed a little search around the forums looking for update news and some of the info conflicts.
I was a little suprised when HHP billed me before the item actually shipped. First time I can recall that. Their explanation is that they wanted to get the $$ to Diablo so we would be 1st in line to receive them.
Then, I just read a post by Mike over at Diablo stating "Your issue isn't with us, we haven't taken anyones money. Take that up with the company you pre-paid with".
Ok, when you do the math, 200+ in the HHP group buy at around $400.00 a pop appromiximates around $80,000.00 which is where???

Fault HHP? Sure, but their actions were based on Diablos origonal release estimate and now the only release updates from Diablo are vague at best.

Comon guys our money already is out there in cyberspace somewhere so how tough is it to give us a new release estimate??? Somebody needs to take responsibility for this fiasco and start coming up with some accomodations for those of us sitting here with a $400.00 hole in our wallets and nothing to show for it. I'm too chickens**** and too broke to be a pioneer most times, and this is a good example of why. Were it my money, I'd be more upset than you. You're right, it's hard to determine whose fault it really is. But it sure isn't yours, or the other 199 people's.

I'm sure if you do not want anyone holding your money, that you can get it back no problem, but as I see it part of the reason for this group buy was to secure a lower price, as you will not be able to buy the tools for that price once they are released.

I hear what you guys are saying, but the wait will be worth it.

    Thanks
    Mike

HHP did the same thing with the Superchips GB.

When you placed your order for the SC GB price they charged your card. Their explanation was 200+ orders were too much for them to charge and ship the day the tuners came in. So they charged you ahead of time for a quick turn around. Same thing they are doing here with the Diablo GB, only difference if SC did not push back their release date.

Personally I am fine with the 30day wait, but if this drags on any longer then 30days HHP better start thinking about refunding some money.

This is why I pre ordered from Tbyrne. they have the lowet price (Guaranteed) and they don't charge your card until they ship them out.

plus, trust me, there will be plenty of predators to go around no matter where you buy them from.

I did purchase my SC from HHP and I did prepay.... I have no problem doing the prepay, but i don't want to if i don't have to.

Actually, SC did push back their release date and TByrne ran a contest to guess the actual release date with a $100 credit given for the right answer. I won the $100, thanks Tom

In all reality thats probably a great guess given the fact they have 1more business week to get the programming done before its the week of(before memorial day weekend give them one more week to tie up the ends and ship it out. This is all assuming that they are as far as it seems they have gotten already if not we may be looking at around this time next month

There were a few people that thought that contest was in "bad taste" even though it was done to lighten up the mood and add a little fun to the delay. I was going to do something like that for the Predator but we'll just see what happens. Hopefully they have them ready to go by the end of this month or beginning of next month.

To be fair, they aren't an authorized DiabloSport dealer even though they list that they are (I checked) and their price for the programmer doesn't include the connection cables, power supply and shipping. We still have them beat when you add all of those together!

The programmers will be released to all vendors at the same time so we're all hoping that this happens soon. As Mike mentioned, it will be worth it!

i dont want to stir the pot or anything, but i dont want people to get confused or anything, the HHP groupbuy does include the PC connection cable, power supply, and shipping. The email that we all received stated that, with 2 options for shipping.
