    PCV Valve Question

I took the PCV Valve out to check it and the oulet hole on the side on my car faces the back of the car and on friends Charger it faces the front of the car where the the outlet on the housing and the hose toward the intake go. Is there a guy on the assembly line just screwing them in whatever way he grabs them. Which way is the correct way I would have thought towards the front of the car but so far I have 1 to the front and 2 to the back. Which way is all of yours ???

makes no difference which way it faces. cranckcase fumes will go around the valve and out to the intake manifold.

I wouldnt think that it matters either way. Function is not usually dependent on the direction of the PCV.

Makes no difference that is for sure but insn't the hose pre-formed like every other hose? Seems strange it would allow for various positions.

6.1 is different so I have not really looked at one on the 5.7.

From the looks of it , it looks like facing the rear the outlet is pretty restricted

he's not talking about the hose. he's talking about the orifice in the side of the valve.

I did some investigating myself and it's a pretty interesting question Al. You would think it would suck out less oil out the pcv tube facing to the back and not directly facing the hose. Will let you know the outcome as i have changed the direction of it. Facing the back might just be enough to stop some of the oil from going back to the intake... especially for those modded with high compression.
