i placed a low number for the srt rear transaxle thinking no way would clevland picka part would accept .Then reddog said dont bother gears are coming.so i decided to forget the whole idea ,guess what clevland accepted the offer.ive emailed them saying i dont need it anymore but i havent heard from them yet .but in the event i have to buy

it.any ideas ?or anyone interested in one for 500 they had it listed for 899 i never though they would have accepted 500

Well, gears are supposedly coming... but they aren't here yet.

Might be months/years before they are readily available.

Well if you won it, and you end up buying it if your in luck and the predator works for changing the gears w/o codes then you should be ok if you want to swap, also if you want to step up in half shafts you should be ok again as no one is making shafts for the Rt's yet.

does the srt dif also have an open dif .im assuming it does.also redfoxx souded like the gears where coming in soon ? like months away not years .he wouldnt elaborate on a time frame at all .which was what i was hoping he would do?

so swaping the rear in would be that simple ? assuming the diablo is right on about the axle ratio thing ? assuming diablo isnt in the picture how else could you do it ?

heresay suggests that SRT has no room for larger ring gear. Ratios may be limited by clearances.

you don't change the ring gear diameter with different ratios. a 9" ford is a 9" ford regardless of the ratio.

normally, the pinion gear gets smaller while the ring gear gets thicker when lower gears are used.

so hyoptheticaly you would need a new rear transaxle to accomadate the gears? could that be why the companys arent making them ? it may not have to do with gear size by internal geomitry?

we don't have transaxles in our cars. the third member houses the gears. i don't see any need for a different third member for a gear swap. i don't know what the srt guys are talking about.

Is anyone forgetting the 4 bolt connections on the driveshaft?

SRT's have 4 bolts holding the driveline to the trans, and 4 bolts holding the driveline to the diff...

RT's use 3.

Its not a simple swap and without the gear changes in software promised by predator, you can't do it successfuly. Even if you overcame the driveshaft connection, added SRT brakes to the front to match the rears, the computer would put you in limp mode.

I'm sure the driveshaft thing can be solved, but we're all still waiting to see on the computer part of the equation. hopefully when we get the predators this will get simpler.
