    Tony, loose the expanded metal... it makes great machinery guards, but sucks when you start considering the free area air has to pass through!

    I bet 50% or more of the opening is being blocked off by the expanded metal.

    If you need to keep out small birds, go with some light gauge hardware cloth!

    That's ok, I've never seen you do anything halfway... I on the other hand...

    Besides... I know a guy that would most likely help me if I really needed more motor

    Did you notice in last months National Dragster that there is a company making sleeves for 6.1 blocks requiring a little machining but it lets you open it up to 426 CU IN with the stock crank...
