    My 180* T-stat thinks it's a 170*!

    Lately my motorad 180* operates at 174* on the highway when it's below 50* outside. I wondering if it's sticking a little or maybe the rubber gasket is gone down river? I guess there's only one way to find out, Then again 174* steady isn't so bad perhaps I'll just keep an eye on it awhile. Whatdaya think.

    I say leave it alone, Bill because I know how Engineers are......174* is okay in my book, but if you see a temperature drop it's time to yank it.

    Mine wanted to run below 180* also. I took it back out for the winter because I got tired of seeing the CEL. There was nothing wrong with the gasket when I removed it I just think some of them run like that.

    Thanks, Ironically for the first time in months I don't have the po128 CEL, not since the temp. is low out, weird!

    My 170 never gets to 174.....the lowest it gets is 176

    something is wrong with yours

    Yeh, It alway's used to run at 181* min. I hope this one stay's like this till the end of track season! Then I'll change it.

    I have the Motorad 4128 and I also see 177 on the freeway when it is cold out, in the low 50's. My stock Tstat would also run as low as 195.
    So I don't think anything is wrong with the Motorad.

    My 170 acts like a 180 - I've -never- seen it in the 170's unless it's from a cold start...

    Hey at least you all are running cooler...I thought I had a 180 come to find out I had a stock...my car was always running 204.... gee wonder how it would run when it is colder...

    Put a 160* in that thing with some ice on the intake and make a pass with a cool motor, you'll gain 50 more hp
