Arrow Mopar Performance Stage 1 Kit - Dyno'd

Ok a few of you might know that I got this kit awhile back and didn't get everyhing installed right away. The kit has the following items:
    Torque Convertor
    Cat-Back Exhaust
    LT Header w/High Flow Cats
    PCM
    TCM
    Camshaft w/NON-MDS Lifters
    CAI

Here is almost everything out of the boxes (Except LT's, Hi-flow Cats & Exhaust):

I also bought the GSM Phenolic Spacers that you can see in the picture.

Here is the stock dyno run from the JBA dyno machine (282HP & 325TQ):

Here is the 3rd run I did this past Saturday on the same dyno (330.4HP & 366TQ):

Here is the chart as well:

A buddy of mine has a ton of pictures of the install and I will post them soon.

I first would like to thank Westoaks Dodge for choosing me to help out with there project!

Second thank yous go to the following members:
    SoCalRT
    thewagon
    MakeMineAMopar & (Tony)
    Cam

Without wonderful members like this, I would have never got through this install! When people ask me why do I spend so much time on the web and on a forum no less. I tell them that the people on here will go through anything to help out a fellow member or a community in there area. I try to explain to them and they just don't get it.

The complete install do happen over one long weekend but I did it over a few weekends. The first long Saturday was at SoCalRT's house (108 temp) removing the JBA short tube headers and JBA Cat-back system. After that went pretty easy, we put on the Mopar LT headers with the new gaskets (is this the top or is this the top)...LOL then the High -flow cats went on very easy with the o2 sensors and the exhaust was a breeze... well almost ... MMAM was going, is the left or the right hanger? Is this one the front one or the rear one... after putting the wrong one on first, we decidied to get some large channel locks to remove it and put it on correctly.

First thoughts when the car started up... well it was very silent. Nothing like the JBA, once you started a car with a JBA cat-back, you knew it was running. With this new system, it was silent. Took it for a quick crusie to see if I could feel and hear a difference and yes I could. Only at WOT I could hear the exhuast. Plus it seemed to pull a bit harder in 3rd gear.

A few weeks go by and MMAM, thewagon, Tony and myself went to tackle the rest of the products. It was a long Saturday and longer Sunday. Tearing everything down was the simple part but that damn LEFT & RIGHT sure messes with MMAM... (KIDDING BUDDY). The T.C. went in pretty easy with a few calls to Cam (THANK YOU). Also those damn valve covers were a little hard to pull off but again thanks to Cam and his wonderful idea about removing the top plastic cover where the wipers are, made it a bit easier. Pulling the heads with the LT's attached made life very easy!!!

The camshaft went in easy on Sunday after it got all lubed up. Everything was going along nicely until we started to put the antifreeze back in the car. "Hey what is that sound?" Well it was the fluid pouring out the side of the block!!! Between the heads and block. Call Cam and he said there is not F'n way that is possible!!! I beg to differ, it is happening and I can see it with my own two eyes. If you put the head gaskets on the wrong side, this can happen... right MMAM... after that we went home for the night.

Woke up Monday morning to drive about 150 or so miles round trip for new head bolts because once you torque one of these bolts and loosen it up, you have to change it. So that afternoon with the new head bolts in hand. We start to put it back together. Everything is going along smooth again. Pour the anti-freeze back in and surprise no leaks!! YES!!!!! Start up the car and it is running!! No throttle repsonse because of the new PCM (needed to be starscanned). Changed it out to the stock one, drove it home, little issues came up but nothing bad. Went to the dealer to starscan it and check the fluid for the tranny. All is good!

Runs great now! Shifts at 6100 or so RPM pulls hard through out all th gears but doesn't jerk you in the seats when it shifts, very smooth!

So 48.4 more HP and 41 Torque. It is great!

    Thank you Mopar!
    Thank you Bigal470

Thank you everyone on the nice comments as well.

Yes on the baseline dyno, the guy put in SRT instead of RT. Those numbers would be very low for a SRT... LOL

As for the dyno machine. It is a dyno dymanics machine.

So an extra 50 horse at the wheels? Not too shabby, especially since it's still warrantied now! $4k for the parts... but how much for the labor?

Not to be a smarta$$ but wouldn't a 50 shot of nitrous do the same thing and only cost about 450 dollars and a couple of hours to install?

Possibly for power numbers, until your bottle runs out of course. I'm sure Mighty Noid wouldn't mind going up against a bottle car on that hit for a best of 20 runs with no stopping for a new bottle

Some of the biggest gains in this package aren't even represented in a dyno sheet though. Take a stock 5.7 car to track and see how it does, then take our test Stage 1 car, a very heavy, loaded Magnum RT and go 13.5 @ 104.5 in 79* heat at a DA of 2400'. Go get another jet for that nitrous nozzle!

The combination is a very potent setup that gives large gains across the entire RPM range as evident by the graph, and translates into a huge accleration difference down the entire track.

Even after we put 20" MSRT8 wheels on that same car, it then STILL went 13.65 @ 103, and in 83* heat no less. It breaks the 60' marker in consistant 1.9X range and pulls all the way to the end with strong, crisp 6100 rpm shifts.

Want a big burnout? Just touch that ESP off button on the center stack and show those 6.1 guys you can play too now!

And when it's time to go out for a nice night on the town the car will still shift buttery smooth in light throttle conditions. Besides the stall speed your friends would never know the difference!

Mighty Noid, we're glad you've found pleasure with your newfound performance from Mopar. The cylinder heads are a whole different story...

labor was done by fellow LX members and myself... so lunch and dinner... plus I gave away my JBA short tube headers to one of the members and the JBA cat-back went to another LX member for free... these two guys helps on the install and then I gave away my Volant CAI to ChargerChick because I picked on her to much when she had the SXT!!

I did get some quotes on labor for a few different places and the lowest price was $800.00 plus all the extra stuff like head gaskets, tranny oil and other stuff... most likey another $300.00 bucks and the high quote was $1800.00 plus the extra stuff...

Yes that is true but you can only use it in small amounts... if you use it to long, you might burn a hole in a piston or two. I just have to press my right foot down whenever I want and it is there. Also you would have to refill a NOS tank, which goes for about 40 to 50 bucks for just 10 pounds and of course when you want to refill it the shop is always closed...

I think building a motor is better in the long run than a quick fix.

    Thank you Bigal470

Hey newer n me ,my Magnum is a grocery getter, no n20.I deal with enough cars day to day to justify the question. Running 2 20 pound bottles the 20 run thing might end up being a close best out of 20 test. As far as performance goes we all know there are faster cars than our beloved magnums. I WAS NOT doggin this guys setup or his choice of parts, all I was doing was asking about anohter option that was cheaper and easier to install. I have never raced 20 times in one night so the argument about the bottle running out is pretty much void. Good gains on Hp and Tq with the bolt ons(ins). Again not trying to cause problems or get personal just playing devil's advocate. Later
    Shane T.
