    Milled mopar heads?

Has anyone milled the Mopar 5.7 heads .030 yet to bump compression? If not, would it be possible to do? If yes; was there any increase in performance by doing so?

The Mopar heads already have raised compression. If you milled them .030 the compression would be to high for pump gas.

In Australia our pump gas is 89-100 RON depending on the gas, so i was thinking i may get away with 100 octane, although more expensive it may produce the gains im after

I don't think so.The Mopar heads give you 10.3:1 compression. If you milled them you would probably be close to 11:1.Hemi~C already tried 6.1 heads on a 5.7 with as thick a head gasket as he could make and was around 10.8 or a bit higher and just couldn't make it work.I think you would need alot more than 100 octane to run it reliably.

65Standard has a set of ported and 0.030" milled heads on his 5.7... the heads, Sidewinder, headers, catback and his own custom ramair hood, has him running a few thousands faster than my SRT with airhammer, magnuflow highflow cats, jba catback and sidewinder.

PM him or Frank Racing for details.

Thanks hemi31.. I love this place.. being in Australia, people don't like to answer my pm's.. Hence i posted here. I am in the process of putting together one hell of a package atm and want to exhaust any possibilities as shipping stuff half way around the globe sometimes costs as much as the parts.. My aim is to have the fastest 5.7 n/a in the Southern HEMIsphere! I think atm i am albeit with my 13.5. But i need to keep it going.

Don,Tony's heads started out as a low compression head. This is about milling down a high compression head even more.

Yep, they were stock heads, not ones with the smaller combustion chambers...
