Thumbs up Many thanks for NoESP's 'Coolit' fan mod!

I just wanted to start this thread by saying thanks again to Joe (NoESP) for all his time and effort in bringing this forum one of the best mods we could ask for!

Installed it today.... works great! Already posted in another thread, but what the heck...

Everything works great, but the auto setting for me (183 degrees?) was a bit low. Durring the test drive I hammered the pee out of the car to get it up to 193 (to make sure the fans on high came on), and they did... issue was it never got down to 183... so basically I was driving around with my fans on high non stop. I assume since I never got lower than 185 on the test drive, my low fans were on non stop as well. This was slow, bumper to bumper as well as some very spirited runs on back roads...

Anyhow, I set the coolit to be 185, redid the test runs, and that worked great.

    Thanks for the great mod!!

I gave up on getting a CTS extension made... nobody had the connectors to make it... so, I just tapped it near the connector. I ordered a connector repair kit in case there is an issue later... Its just the female side connector with 6" of wire.

great mod, it works perfectly as advertised.

the only confusion was with the temp sensor wire. mine was violet with a red stripe. the instructions say a violet with yellow stripe wire, but the pictures show him tapping in the the blue wire. which by the way, is the other sensor wire.

Yeah - I found the same w/ the violet / red stripe wire but it was clear in the pics that it was the correct one. I think the mod is great - he did a great job putting it together.

    Thumbs up

I got mine installed yesterday afternoon. Works perfect! Some of the best money I have spent on the car! Temp stays right at 185 unless I am on it the it will come up to about 200 but it comes right back down quickly.

I had a violet wire with red stripe as well, the install instructions clearly showed it not to be the other (blue one) wire. That was really the only hiccup in the whole thing caused by NOESP.

Now droping the damn housing bolt and getting it stuck behind the alternator and staying lost for a couple of hours was a major pita. A quick trip to the store for a "magnet on a stick" and all was well!

I ordered mine the minute the buy it now light came on and got it early last week. Did the full install shortly thereafter.....works perfectly!! I also ordered noesp and love that too! Joe's got it goin' on with this stuff - truly pro efforts! My temp sensor wire was the violet/red variety but not hard to figure it out. I wired it to the parking light switch however I'm too thrilled with that setup, as the first night I was setting base temps, etc I had to pull over to make changes, 'cause it was dark and I needed the lights! I've emailed Joe about instructions to wire a dedicated switch and also a cabin led indicator and hope to hear back from him soon. I'm sure he's swamped putting units together to meet the demand!
If you haven't put your order in for this great piece of engineering....do it!!!

Installed mine today, it worked like a champ.

I tried the alternate power hook into fuse 11 and about one minute after hookup it came on. I was a bit surprised at this since the car was cold. I put it back to fuse 14 and it works fine, just not when the car is off.

I plan to tap the pink wire for power so it will run while key is on ACC/Run mode.

Nice job developing and delivering Coolit and its sister product noESP, their both great products!
