    Long Tube Headers

I tried a seach and i couldnt really find what i was looking for. I wanted to know which headers on the market or just easy bolt ons and last the longest. I already figure kooks would be everyones first choice but I heard about them throwing codes.
Can some one go into detail about how to fix this? What about Dynatechs and SLP or Hookes or Stainless Steel Works? How are those headers. If some one could get me some input that would be great or point me in the right direction.

Stainless steel works makes a set for our cars? I know that in the Vette community the Kooks are shyte (rott from the inside out) but the SSWs are one of the best quality/fit.

I'd say SLP makes about as much power as any other company. I can't say the quality is as good but they do come with a life time warranty. One of the things I don't like about the SLP is that the cats clamp onto the headers. Kooks has flanges, this imo makes it eaiser to install.

I've been debating the Kooks Longtube headers for a while now. I have Magnaflow cats and Corsa Exhaust. Can some of you Kooks headers owners tell me if it's worth the $$? I plan on adding a Supercharger soon if it makes any difference. Thanks for the input.

I have Kooks LT's and think they are great and built well. I know there are quite a few people that have the and equally as happy.

The code thing is weird. I drove for a few months before I hrew any codes. I used to get them once a month, reset the\m and would be fine for another month. I turned the rear O2 sensors off and have been fine. I know not the ideal solution, but works for now.

That being said, I'm not sure if I'd get any codes with the stock cats.

They all go in pretty much the same. In terms of looks, and performance, I think you will be happy with Kooks. They are about the longest header on the market, so they will make great power. Throw in the fact they are 304 stainless, and that we offer free coating, they will last forever. We run them on all our cars for a reason.

Kooks are equal-length headers, Dynatechs are not. Dynatechs are easier to install, due to fewer bends coming straight off the ports.

I have Dynatechs, they throw codes too. If I had the money, I'd swap my Dynatechs for Kooks.

I don't know that anyone has any direct comparison numbers as far as gains, so all the data is fairly empirical.

If I weren't worried about emissions in a couple years, I'd go with Kooks in a heartbeat.

For now, I'll looking to go with some Mopar LTs

I'm starting to lean towards Mopar or AEM LTs instead of the JBA shorties. I like the fact that they come with the high flow cats and mid-pipes. I like how they look. I just don't like the price.

you sure the dynatechs arent equal length?
thats the whol point of going with long tubes on any header brand, is so you have the length required... to make all the primaries equal length

Has anyone had tunning solve the whole code throwing issue?
Is the only way to stop the codes is to turn off o2 sensors?

    Yessir, positive.

Don't get me wrong, they're good headers, and for a while they were the best available. But the Kooks (IMO) are better for that reason alone, before we even start talking about port-matching or anything else.

Some folks have had luck with the anti-foulers, like formerice in post #12 above.
