idle / tranny / motor issue... so confusing

hey everyone i have an 07 charger r/t and my issue is that even before the cai and exhaust it would do this same thing when the car is in drive and i come to a stop it will feel like a jolt forward and back almost like someone tapped me from behind and also the rmps dip a a little bit, and it also does it when im using the shift stick so im pretty sure that rules out "the tranny is down shifting theory" any help would be greatly appreciated because my warranty is almost up

Are you using a DS Predator and a canned tune. I'm sure you have MDS, right? I have an 05 300c 5.7 and when I changed the stock exhaust to Magnaflow and installed the predator it caused what some call the MDS bump or pulse. In other words you can feel it kicking in and out. If you have the DS Predator you can disable it and see if that is the cause.

I had the exact same issue on the Charger and the 300. Sitting at a light, I could watch the RPM's dip below 500 and then I got the "bump" when rpm's jumped back up. Predator tunes on both cars took care of this issue.

With that being said, both cars have had PCM software upgrades done via the Predator (when the CALIDS are upgraded by Dodge/Chrysler). Both cars have been returned to stock for dealer visits recently and the "bump" has not experienced at all when set back to stock.

IMHO, the PCM software upgrades took care of it.

It's a tuning / MDS issue. Even updating the CALIDS might be enough to fix it, which a dealer can do. But, with your mods, it's about time for a Predator anyway.

Second that... It's a tuning/mds issue. Something to the effect of your mds is staying engaged to long and when it shuts off the car jumps.

Take it in - could be torque convertor or Tranny - even in Autostick the tranny still downshifts when you come to a stop.
