I Fubbed up, C&L filter shriveled up!

    (2) nights ago I cut a hole out of the drivers side upper radiator baffle to allow air to flow through the grille to the hole I have cut in my factory lower airbox on my C&L.........today I washed the car and figured just to be safe (which I later realized I didnt need anyways), I put a plastic publix bag over the filter.......I forgot it was there and after the wash, I started the car and it immeadiately shut off.......then I realized the filter was covered....popped the hood and the thing was shriveled up somewhat and squished in on the front like something stepped on it.......I put my hand in the inside and popped it all back out.......the pleates are deff bent and look like squigly lines but I went for a drive and everything seemed fine.......Can I get by like this for a month or so until I purchase a new filter?

you can just drive it like that. not a big deal. alot of power adder cars actually do that to the filter when they come into boost.

Shouldn't be an issue as long as the filter doesn't have a hole of any sort or ripped in such a way as to come apart at a seam.
I would check it frequently though until you get a new filter on.

PS, ok how about a picture...lol

Its fine as long as it isn't busted. How come you didn't take out the lower baffle? That does the same thing and is totally safe from water ingestion and whatnot. When I had my upper baffle off, the filter got incredibly dirty, incredibly fast. So many bugs you'd think I was an entomologist on an expedition.
