Strange question I know...
I've heard so much about how the tunes you can get out of the Predator help with performance, shifting firmness, etc etc...
But I was wondering, with all the changes this makes, how does overall ride quality change? In normal driving, is the shifting jerky, or smooth? etc etc...
I have an 06 Magnum R/T AWD, stock except for a Mopar CAI.
Any comments?
Thanks guys, much appreciated!
Ryan

2006 Dodge Magnum R/T AWD, Black.
Current mods: Mopar CAI (came with the car, woohoo!), Diablo Predator CAI 93 Tune, Chrysler Ipod Integration Kit, Billet Tech Catch Can, and a bottle of Throttle Body Cleaner.
The ride quality is the same if not better.

On mine, the tranny's set up as aggressive as the Predator can make it. I usually drive fairly moderately most of the time. The car shifts just like stock during normal driving. You wouldn't know it had been altered at all. However, during wot runs, the tranny cracks off firm, quick shifts. It's a bit more jarring/neck-snapping than I'm used to, but it's how the car should shift under those conditions. It's only bad when I let-off the throttle right as it's about to shift(usu due to speed-limit coming up fast he-he), then it can throw my head around way more than I like, but like I said, it's how the car should shift under those conditions.

Hey Shaft, you cannot go wrong with the diablo. It's your entry point to awesome HP gains. As you start modding your LX, the pred is the tool you want to use to dial in your new mods. Usually that would require a CMR tune, where a FI tuner will dial in your parth throttle and WOT settings. It also allows you turn on/off some stuff such as MDS, if you have 5.7, amongst other settings. Diablo, is one of the best tuners for our LX's around. Bar none. Ride quaility is actually improved tremendously and even can save you gas too... well maybe... as long as you grandma it![]()

Yeah, Im pretty much sold on it, but just looking for more information, and i spent two hours yesterday looking through threads about it, but couldn't find anything about how the car actually rode comfort-wise. I'd hate to be driving my grandma to the doctors appt. and give her whiplash
I'm pretty sure I won't go much further than the Mopar CAI and the Diablo tuner on my car performance-wise, but...even with those two things, it can make a significant difference?
Grandma might tell you to pull over so SHE can drive!wouldn't THAT be embarassing! Grandma 'drifting' to doc's office! LOL!
Yeah RIGHT!!! LOL!! Now THAT is funnier than your grandma drift-racing your car! .... That's what most of us said a loong time ago....first an easy intake mod.... next the exhaust......next thing you know, the engine is torn appart and there is some guy from Michigan so deep into your motor all you see are his feet up in the air!
And...yep...Predator right there to make it all work together!![]()

At the very least get a catch can, on sale until 8/31 from Billettechnology. It'll run you about $90 or so shipped w/pcv hoses at the sale price.
Like everyone is saying the ride is great during normal driving. During WOT you will notice it.
If you are concerned about grandma put it back to stock before you pick her up. Install the tune later after the appts.
For a more detailed explanation search for it, or visit BT's vendor section. Basically, it acts as a middle-man sitting in the track of the pcv(positive crankcase ventilation) hose in order to "catch" the oil that would otherwise be directed into the throttle body, whereby it will be splattered all over the intake runners and eventually turn to sludge. Not only will this gunk up your engine, but it affects the air-fuel ratio somewhat and can affect performance.
