Thumbs up HoP Racing CMR tunes 392 Stroker

Well as many of you may no I have been working everyday with Josh at HoP racing dialing in CMR tuning on my car. After tons and tons of Data logging and street/fwy driving were finally dialed in real good. There is alot more to CMR tuning then meets the eye. Josh and I have completely disected the software and got it working pretty darn good.
Im not comparing this dyno to any other package Ive run before. It wouldn't be fair. This package includes PPP heads and HHP Stg 3 Cam. We still feel like theres alot more in the motor and we could go with a bigger cam. But for now this is real sweet and tasty. Also let it be noted that this is NOT a cold run.
Or for that matter a "Cooked" run. I can hot lap the dyno with this tune and range anywhere from 412-420 hp and 425-440 tq all day long. Also make note this tune has safety built into it. This isnt the hottest tune I could run
but a hot/Safe tune. This will be the exact tune I run friday at the 1/4 mile.
This tune is greatly improved over my last best tune and 12.7 1/4 mile so Im shooting for the stars friday.

Make note at the run # ,yup that's the 137th dyno on my car.. Believe me when I say we got data. Lots of try this and try that went down and when we finally saw it come together the last two days it was awesome to watch.
Josh wont do it half ass, Wont cut a corner and dont care how long it takes. Lets just say the CMR isnt exactly user friendly but its working.

Ive post the same dyno run with 3 spots highlighted as to see the A/F ratio's. Id like to thank Josh for his relentless pursuit of a perfect tune. Last night I went home at 6pm and he ran another 10 dynos/tunes. All in All Im very greatfull to Josh and his effort on this.

    I can confidently say that
HoPracing is officially a authorized proficient CMR tuner!!!!

Ah so nice to see big guy. Kudos to you and Josh and all the hard work. The CMR stuff is by no means user friendly, your right. But it gets us where we wanna be.

Can't wait for the track results bro. Congratulations to you both!

    DISCLAIMER:

I know how this sounds coming from me since I have my parts supplied from THS but I will ask this as an observer on the forum and not a THS guy.

Now back to our regularly scheduled forum:

    Question?
I stopped following your build some time ago around the time you were missing some bushing or something.....

PPP Heads? HHP Cam? I thought you had FRI heads on the car and their stroker? Stroker built by HOP (who I have never heard of, must be a high end California company us "hicks" don't see in our limited West Texas lives....CV) I thought this was a FRI stroker, that is what your sig said...or it did I mean? I post these questions to clarify a situation I can not in my limited metal capabilities follow.

Yeah I'd like to know about HOP. Where are they located? Trojan, where are you located. I see you're from socal. I'm also from socal. What are you're plans when it's time to smog? I've been talking with FRI about building an engine and a custum tune I could load at smog time to tune it to be clean enough to pass smog.

I don't know about the Lonestar state being a bunch of hicks (I'm sure there are some), but you do have some hot women out there, and some tasty BBQ's as well. What was it that they say about Texas?...

The kit was bought from FRI, which they bought through another vendor that bought from another guy, and another guy, and another guy. You get the picture.

Shouldn't we have our own reality show on Fox? Yes we will be running the THS heads on this car. This is the established baseline for all 4 vendors supplying the heads.

Jason Im not sure what stg they are, I know they have bigger valves, And yes we are going to test the THS Heads, HHP Heads, Mopar Heads as well in the coming weeks. Along with some 90 mm throttle body stuff for the 5.7's and 6.1's.

Ok Nate Dog Let me fill ya in!

First off the only 2 FRI built Strokers I know of are CV's and MattR's. My Stroker was a Stroker Kit that Steve at FRI hooked up for me and got to me very fast. This Kit to be Exact. 392 Stroker Kit Once I got the kit it was sent to the machinist for balancing along with the block for boring.
Then Josh at HoPracing built the entire motor right in front of my face. It took a week to get it built. At that time we had FRI Street Heads and a Tomahawk cam. The car ran sick!!! I ran a 12.7 with a 1.7 60' on that set up. Then thru my experience and CV's experience with the Tomahawk I decided to put in this HHP Stg3 cam, also about that time Josh at HoP decided he was gonna do a head test, So we put the PPP's on with the Stg3 cam, , The springs in the FRI heads would'nt handle the lift for this cam so we couldnt keep the FRI heads on. Also were running Blue Giant 42lb injectors. That we scaled in CMR.
So that brings are dumb ass's to today. Were we completed a CMR tune on the lastest set-up and were gonna go try and kick some arse.

OMG! Dude, Im not gonna do cam test . FRI opted out for sending us some 392 heads. I did a 383/426 with the FRI H/C but the tq was gone to early and the top end lacked HP. Im sure we could have CMR'd it to close to 400hp and 435ishTQ. but the top end curve was unfavorable. If FRI wants to send some 392 heads we will run'm.
