I am so happy right now!Yesterday was Amazing.
Cam my "Director of Operations" whom all of you know just way out did himself!. Dan "Hemi_charger" who handles all my incidentals also showed up to lend a hand! Could not of done any of this with out them!
Thanks guys you kill'd yesterday and Im very grateful.
Next Id like to give a very very Special Thanks to my Man Josh at HHP for all the help he has provided me, the countless late night phone calls, Josh has a great operation and hands down has provided me with customer service second to none.
Bruce at HHP handled all my motor details personally with Tony Bischoff and made sure everything was done according to plan.
Ted, and Jeff at Mopar Super Center have supplied me with all my special orders and anything Mopar Ive needed. Thanks alot guys.
Without the proper team in place these builds can easily go astray,
But with a first string team like this things can run smooth.
Im here to tell you its possible to order a motor and be running in less then a month. Just got to cross your "T's" and dot your "I's". These guys love what they do and do it well! So to all of you!
Back to the build,
We first set out to build a 500 rwhp N/A 426 Stroker, But then SMS came into the picture and I worked out a deal for a blower, At that point we needed to change the compression and cam on the build, Which meant Dished pistons.
Those guys didnt miss a beat, Ordered Pistons from JE and the build proceeded.
The motor was shipped directly to a Dist center in L.A where I drove up and snatched her up.
Since I no longer deal with "That 1 Shop" Trojan needed a new playground.
Manny my longtime friend and World renowned SEMA car builder just aqquired his new venture, "Automotive Design Concepts" He's had 158 Mag Covers and is currently building 3 cars for NISSAN for SEMA. He offered me up his 4,000 q ft warehouse as if it were my own..
So we got a lift installed, a compressor, and all the other little things we needed to turn this empty space into a full fledge "Shop".
Besides I new Cam was gonna be swapping the motor with me there and I need to make sure He had everything he needed to do this as quick as possible.
Tuesday I racked the Challenger for the first time, Removed the midpipes,
coil-pacs, Intake and prepared for weds motor swap.
Cam arrived a 7am weds morning. By 9:oo am we had the stock 6.1 out of the car and on the picker., We had to install all the sensors, swap the motor mounts, water pump, Flywheel, While I was swapping parts Cam was installing the New RDP TC.
TQ installed
New Motor Prepped and ready for install
Everything ran so smooth, We had everything there to complete the install,
By 6:00pm the fluids were all back in and the Custom tune was emailed to me from RDP Steve for start up. When I hit hit the start up she roared to life!. Brought her up to temp and shut her down. It was AMAZING, complete swap out in 1 day with all the bells and whistles, Cam took car of wire all my gauges as well.
She was idle/purring like a cat at 750 rpm's. Today I will swap the oil and filter and button up a few wires and stuff and shes a wrap for now.
On this Motor build so far Id lik to thank the following folks.
Josh/Bruce/Stephanie at HHP
Tony at BES
Cam
Max/Johan at Diablo
Manny at ADC
Jr at New Century
RDP Steve
KOOKS
CORSA
Sean/Billy at SMS/Techo
Ted. Jeff at Mopar Super Center
Without this team I could have never done this. Folks it is entirely possible to do pretty stress free.
