First I want to Thank James and Dave at ProMotion for all the time we spent trying to find the right jetting for my Nitrous.
The air was ok.. 87* 29.85 BARO, 32% HUMIDITY
First we did 2 pulls just motor... We got 326 HP / 365 TQ A/F @13.40
Then we tried the spray.
First pull.. 405.06 HP / 491.44TQ.. A/F 11.62 RATHER FAT...
Best Torque.. 400.76 HP / 520.16TQ.. A/F 12.28 Still kinda fat
We then tried changing jets, watching the A/F and timing. Without the spray we were running 34* max timing with a IAT at around 45C. With jets 30/52 combination the timing maxed at 32 but the IAT went to 9C. So we figured go leaner on the fuel. So we went to a 26/52 combination. Everything stayed about the same with the A/F and timing but we lost like 10HP. So we went back to the 30 fuel and stepped up the nitrous to 56 to see if we could get leaner on the A/F. With the nitrous stepped up the IAT went to -3C and the timing maxed at 29*. We actualy lost 5HP but pulled 520TQ. We played with different jets combinations but never got over the 405 mark.
We were afraid to pull the IAT for fear of breaking it and not having a replacement. We may have seen different results if the IAT was up stream of the spray.
A few of conclusions... HAL will pull timing when the IAT is cold. The colder the IAT sensor gets the more HAL will fatten up the fuel and pull timing. With the spray down stream of the IAT the more nitrous we sprayed HAL would compensate and fatten up the fuel. More nitrous produces more torque with a loss of HP. On just motor the max numbers TQ at 4400, HP max at 5200. On nitrous the max TQ numbers were at about 3800 and falling off pretty quick after 4500 when HAL stopped advancing the timing. Peak HP numbers stayed pretty flat from 4500 to 5500. Even at 6000 it was still pulling 375HP.
My next mod is to change the location of the IAT to just after the air cleaner box down, stream of the nitrous. Once I move the IAT we need to get this thing back on the DYNO to see how HAL acts
