    Question has anyone ever tried this...................(look inside)

    I was doing a lil searchin today for some heat resistant material and came across this

    Just wondering if anyone has ever looked into this stuff?
    I think MattRobertson was doing air intake temp. research. If it was not you, sorry. I just cant really remember who it was doing the research

    yeah a few have used it on the c/l intakes, seemed to do its job


    SRT airbox, SRT headers/mids, SRT catback, SRT full suspension, BT 85mm TB, BT catch can, and email CMR from forgeinMuscle

    I think for the most part the arguement is that the air isnt in the tube long enough to TRUELY be affected by the tubes temp... id be more concerned with the intake manifolds temp affect on the intake charge temp.

    I think the money for this would be better spent building a box to seal off the filter from the hot engine air... so the engine is drawing in cold air from the start...

    Originally, that is why i was looking for heat resistant material. I popped my hood today and looked at my filter (NASTY, hood was hungry i guess). start picking out the bugs and if was frickin HOT!!

    and it was HOT!!

    Ewwwww. Can't you keep it cleaner than that?

    FWIW the Airaid intake doesn't get bugs like the airhammer filter does. Just an observation.

    I heat wrapped one 4 years ago......the difference wasn't worth the cost of the wrap.

    Thats because with an Air Raid, the bugs can fly away. With the Airhammer, they get sucked in.

    Really now, does the intake brand make a difference? No, Not when you use it in a Ram Air hood.
