Good vs Bad quality fuel dyno graph

This was on a 08 Charger RT that i am doing some testing on.
Both pulls where done under identical ambient conditions. ECT and ACT where about 200 deg F and 84 deg F respectively.
Vehicle came in with unknown brand of 93 octane, black graph(pred cai tune)
Pulled about 8 deg of timing starting at the obvious dip in the curve.
Drained the tank and put 93 octane Mobil fuel in it, red graph(pred cai tune), NO TUNE CHANGES.
    Peak vs Peak #'s
    Black graph 306hp 330ft/lbs
    Red graph 320hp 355ft/lbs
As you can see, fuel quality makes a HUGE difference.
Thought i would share this as it is good info.

The A/F line is pretty flat. I've seen some that were up and down. Why is that?

All depending on the tune in the vehicle, stock tune goes quite a bit richer up top and hence the line would slope down more.

    Holy Crap !

Why one earth would 93 gas make that much differnce ? I mean unless the vendor is watering the 93 down with 87 or something.

No clue on the pre mobil fuel ? the owner has no idea or did he buy the cheap stuff at a mom and pop shop ?

I have been trying to stick with BP / Sunoco I use to use Shell quite a bit but the station I was using turned to crap.

Not sure where the first tank came from, but this is not the first time we have seen this.
We had a C6 Vette that picked up 20+rwhp after dumping the tank of 93 octane Shell for some Mobil as well....

    Obviously fuel quality is crucial.

    Thanks

I'm betting the owner used Shell before tunes.

We should take testing on every gas brand.

Wow, that's a big difference. I'm glad I've always used Mobil. This will make me think twice about what brand of gas I put in my vehicles.

Stock 08 5.7, cat back and a replacement cone filter on the stock intake tube.
Both pulls are the same 93 octane tune, one with bad gas, the other good gas.

    So here's a question...

How can you measure fuel to determine "good" vs. "bad"? Besides having a dyno and lots of time!
