    go figure..........

best 1/4 to date is 13.59. i basicly average anywhere from a 13.60 to 13.69. my mods on those runs were afe stage2, catless mids, catback, and 93cai tune.

i recently pulled the afe2 and put back on my srt/daytona box i had laying around and headed off to the track. 13.44 this time, it was a tad more humid with temps around the same as usual when i go to the track (i am very picky in what weather i run in). second run was a 13.47, and third was a 13.41. at this point i was happy and it proved to me my stock daytona/srt intake was a better "CAI" than my afe i guess.

seat of the pants tells me no difference but out of my last 20 or so runs showing all 13.60 to 13.69 range i have to say my car is consistant, so this was def. a switch that made a difference. the srt intake will reside in my car from now on

    go figure...

    noise

noise makes you feel faster. Plus if you really believe it, then it's true!

You should see my friend who has a 07 Charger SRT8. He has modded it up with noisy exhaust and noisy CAI, and he can't even stay close to my stocker!

the real test should have been taking off the stocker and putting back the afe on that same day.

true, but with same conditions with more humidity makes me wonder. just by the looks it seems the srt would suck in true cooler air not to mention i have a K and N panel filter in it as well as the lower rad piece out. i mean just last week i was in the 13.6 range with my usual 0-60, i am very consistant and have ALOT of passes over the years, for me the variables are very close i have my logs with the afe on a nice 72 degree day, today will be 77 degrees so i will log today ith the srt.

i forgot to mention, my airbox is moded, i have it completely sealed to the hole/lower pocket of the front end. so theres no way warm engine air can enter.

    awesome.
    fresh air for the win.
i still have my afe2. i will have to get out to the track and do some runs with it and the GSM.

i wont be able to remove that plate, so it will probably help the AFE by feeding it fresher air, heck, maybe the upward facing tube will fit right thru the afe hole(i dont think it will....) and act almost like youre saying, sealed.

great info tho man, love to see these results

i wish this was always true,
have you ever run with open headers?
when i was swapping out my cats i went and hit the street with my JBA shorties wide open and it was insane. the car was so loud, it felt like it SHOULD be faster than i was going, made me feel like i had lost power (maybe true tho without an exhaust system, no scavenging)

I'm currently running the GSM and AFE II together with consistently low temps (IAT and AAT). Don't hit me with the :TTIWWOP: because I installed it to gather some data. Next time the fascia's off I'll get some shots of it. My point is cold air is king!

    im gonna guess--

the GSM comes with a metal plate.... think of it this way:
its a metal tube with a plate in the middle of it, kinda like a flange. one side the tube bends at liek 30 * or less, the other sticks straight up. looks kinda like this:
    _||_
    ..\\

the filter clamps to the tube on the bottom, the plate is bolted to the hole below your airbox, and has a tube that sticks up verticle, and is clamped to the main intake tube that goes to your intake...

im guessing that he has the AFE, and the plate, so that it creates a seal going to the area behind the fascia?

however, i hope your not still running both filters, might be a restriction haha
