    Flowmasters Anyone?

I have a RT and I am anxiously debating to upgrade my exhaust. I have a few friends that have Flowmasters on their vehicles and they sound awesome. But I am concerned about interior noise. Anyone out there who might have already upgraded to any type of Flowmasters or other exhausts?

Hey Guinnesshouse, I just had a set of AeroTurbine mufflers and resonators installed, same setup as MagnumFreak on this thread:
    http://www.dodgemagnum.net/phpBB2/vi...amp;highlight=

the Freak included a bunch of clips so you can judge the sound yourself. I have the resonance issue, as I have not installed the two extra resonators in front of the mufflers yet, but that aside, the few miles I have put on since the install last night have been fun; the sound takes me back to age 16, and I perceive a significant difference in accelleration.

MagnumFreak, if you are reading this, thanks for the info on your install. I had the stock tips put back on to finish mine off, they are in the exact same place... super sleeper!

Flowmasters are notorious for droning at certain rpms (usually ~2k rpm). In fact, every car that I've heard with Flowmaster did drone badly. However, when they weren't droning, they sounded great! I haven't been in a Magnum with Flowmasters, so I can't comment on that, but my guess is that they do drone. Any owners out there care to comment on that?
I chose to have Magnaflows welded in and don't regret that decision.

I have Flowmasters on my RT and also removed the stock resonators. Around town they sound awesome, on the highway there is drone, about 2000-2200 RPM.

I may add on some straight through resonators or small glasspacks, to tone it done a bit.

That, or just crank up the radio!

Just learn to live with it,

I have 40's on place of the suitcase and the resonators out. like above there is a drone at about 2200rpm's. also when the car is stone cold and you just putt away FROM the driveway it drones pretty good. once it warms up i use more go pedal to avoid this.

they released a kit now that has special made resonators for our cars. I havetn heard one with that actual flow master kit, i just saw the kit at SEMA. it looked nice and had some beefy tips too.

Please consider Walker DynoMax mufflers or Edelbrock RPM mufflers:
Much less drone , deeper with less "rap", flows better, better made, and I think cheaper as well

    And the dead shall walk

I guess its all a matter of opinion. I had walker dyno's on my last Impala SS and they sounded like crap IMO. my first SS had flow's, every other gas vehicle i've owned has had flow's too. JMHO though.

as for cheaper, i paid $84 each and $130 for the install.

I have got 40s on my RT, no resonators and 4 inch tips on the ends and let me tell you it got a drone like a mofo. I honestly don't mind it one bit because it lets me know im alive. If I want my cushy ride then I drive the Beemer(sometimes you need that) When I feel saucy the Mag fits the bill, its got all the amenities of a new car but the growl and rawness of a true hot rod. I think that this car was somewhat desiged and definately promoted as a performer with the ability to haul stuff as the ball kicker to all the other SUVs and crossover vehicles but I was a little let down with the lack of performance sound so this is my answer to what I think it sould sound like. I am happy now, drone and all!
