    flowmaster vs summit

Do you think a $20 Summit Racing muffler would sound the same as an $80 Flowmaster? I dont really want to pay $160 for mufflers if the design and sound is the same.

the flowmaster is a chambered muffler. the summit racing muffler is most likely a turbo muffler. i doubt if they would sound or flow the same. save your money and wait to buy the real thing.

I wouldn't use either of those mufflers on an LX. IMO those are more suited to a 87 Mustang GT. Save your money and get something higher quality.

I have a Flowmaster 70 series on my last two Ram 1500's (cause they flow pretty well and are $ cheap) (last one rotted off my Ram in three winters) The quality compared to the Corsa on my CSRT 8 is not even in the ballpark (of course neither is the price). I also don't want the dreaded flowmaster drone when driving my 300 (another reason I went with the Corsa). As I said before I just don't think the Flowmaster belongs on a $30K-$45K LX. JMO.

Surely that's not because of the Flowmaster exhaust.

no, but its part of the overall combination. just so you know, flowmaster has ceramic coated mufflers if you're worried about rust.
