Expensive Magna/Borlas? Cherry Bomb Glasspacks anyone?

Yeah, there is the Thrush thread.. However, why not just go for the basic classic straight thru glass packs, Just cut off all that oem exhaust baggage (ok, keep the X pipe and cats) and let her rumble.... wonder what that would sound like..I'd like to keep the stock tips maybe that would get it far enough out to stop any superflous interior rrumble, throb or vibration. would this deal set off any sensor warning lights? Surely... it's just gotta sound neat...

    Nick the Nurse,

Let me make sure I understand you right, you are looking for the cheapest way to try and get a V8 sound out of this beast? Nothing wrong with that.

Someone here posted that they simply cut off the rear resonators and ran a straight pipe!

My biggest fear will be the interior noise.

Are you going to try it and report back to us?

Cheap? Yeah..What about $30.00 the pair? You know what gets me? The sound of these late model V-8 Mustangs, Camaros yes even the new Vetts (dare I say our RTs) with their rheumy, anemic sounding stock and aftermarket "performance" exhaust systems.. It got to me when I saw a new Vette trying to burn rubber FROM a stoplight yesterday..what a lame sounding exhaust tone. Gone is the deep rumble of authority that the V-8 used to produce..I think this all went South with the advent of the "Turbo" style muffler. It seems a lot of folks think their V-8 should sound like those little Jap 4 bangers that all the kids are modifying...I remember when the basic Chev 283- Ford 289 with a set of dual glass packs had quite the wonderful deep powerful sound. Yes perhaps it's the interior noise thing ...But what if?.... No, I doubt I will be trying this anytime soon, but man I can't help but wonder if there is a dual glass pack sound available somewhere in the guts of our Hemi engines...If anybody finds this vintage sound in there, let us know how you got it .....and I ain't talkin Borla or Magnawhatever the heck they are..

    YOU want vintage rumble-grumble-roar?

    Walker DynoMax
    Edelbrock RPM's
    Smithy's

Flow as good if not better than flowasters and quieter with a richer "ol'skool" sound.. You know that authoritative Doogity-doogity-doogity--HARRUMMMMMMMMWWWAAAAHHHHHHH! kind of sound.
PERSONALLY I will be getting one of these.
