Is the ERG valve tube that comes off the passenger side of the intake manifold called "ERG valve"? I need to get a new one and want to know what to ask for. Thanks!

The 'hot' one with the shiny stuff around part of it is indeed the EGR tube.

Sweet....where would be the best place to get a used one?
I had to buy a new one also. I would suggest to just go to the dealership, I could not find a used one anywhere (all of the junk yards keep them with the engine). They are fairly cheap, I think I paid $15 for it brand new. The only problem is that they are on back order, I had to wait about 10 days for mine.
I trimmed it down where it goes into the intake manifold.....via Mom's suggestion for my idle problem. Anyway I cut it down too far....rookie mistake...and now have a small leak. For what it is worth the car is not dying anymore....at least not yet.
Does it throw codes if you no longer have it running into the TB?
yes.......but we cut ours down to move it out of the flow path
Got one coming from the dealer $15 and the rubber bushing is $5.
I was having a problem with not getting enough air and was dying at lights. I cleaned up the butterfly valve and trimmed the ERG down as recommended by Lee. He said that this was done in other cars with this problem, by trimming it down you allow more air to go in. If you have your CAI off flip down the butterfly valve and you will see it goes in the intake quite a ways....I was really surprised how far it was. I figured it was just inside enough to get the air it needed not halfway in the intake.
IMO it just blocks and disrupts the flow of air....anyway I am sure Lee has a better explanation...either way the car is idling great now. Later
ok I understand now....never seen it inside...I'll take a peak one day...thanks
Did you have to take it out and saw part off
