Electric Cutouts

I was recommended to this site by a member off of youtube:

here is my story: I have a 2006 Charger R/T. I bought some electric cutouts for it (saw them on chargers on youtube).

Took my car to the muffler shop and he said they would sit too low and didn't put them on.

Since I know it is possible, what I need is some pictures of installed cutouts so that I can take him the picture and he will know exactly where to put them. I really hate to have these things just sitting here (very expensive paper weights).

All help and cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Did you get round ones (a la QTP) or oval ones (a la DMH)? The round ones do sit a little lower than the rest of the midpipe. If you go too far back on the exhaust, you lose some of the effect. But do a search and some pictures will come up, and I'm sure someone will provide them here. I've heard a couple sets in person, and hot damn, they sound wicked!!! Haven't decided if I want 'em yet...

I did get the round ones. they were the cheapest ones. I haven't gotten a hold on how to use the search quite yet.

I do appreicate the lightning fast responses. This is a good pic but I would like a different angle also. The more pics that I can take to the shop the better chances I have of getting them put on.

Another silly question... did you buy y-pipes w/ them or is the muffler guy going to have to cut and weld a pipe in and slap a flange on it to mount them??

I bought the y-pipes from badlandzhpe.com. Very nice. Stainless steel.

the guy couldn't find a spot for them. I see them all over youtube.com but no real good shots of where they are installed exactly.

All I need are a few good pics.

I have the round ones and they are installed exactly where redfox has his DMH's in the pic above. They do not touch the floorboard above and I have had zero ground clearance issues.

I live in NY and the roads are terrible. If they don't hit the ground here, you should be good to go anywhere.

This would be so cool if I'm able to do this. The car is actually my wifes and that was a Christmas present for her and now I'm stuck.

I have to admit, I am alot closer than I was last month.

Let me see what pics I can dig up on my home PC tonight (I am currently at work). I pulled them off recently due to the lackluster 2 HP gain on the dyno. I do have a short video I put together. I will see if I can post it up and send to you and/or put in this thread.
