i wish i knew the techs name but justin at franks racing warned me that he had a few problems with some cars but did not mention their model yr.The tech said i would need a special tune??He did not tell me his name!Is this a problem for the 08`s?I know you will steer me in the right direction!

I have not heard of any issues with egr delete on any year, all it is in the software is a switch that tells the pcm if it is equipped with egr or not, same for all years.

Johan, what tune would you recommend i install with the mods i have?
6.1L CRATE W/ 3:06 GETRAG 08 R/T
All you have are Catback and Air Hammer, then put the 91 or 93 CAI tune in. Use the best 93 octane gas you can find and data log for LT-KNK and ST-KNK. The only real differences in the two tunes are the amount of spark and fuel delivered at WOT. Torque management is reduced in both of them. I would remember to reset all parameters when changing out the tunes and possibly pull fuse #2 in the front fuse box to reset the adaptives. Drive the car like you stole it and see what that does for you. Do you have a Jet 180 Thermostat? If so use the fan settings that come in the tunes or set all High fan speeds to 188.xx Medium to 188.xx and low speed fans to 178.xx
Good luck and keep her between the ditches.

i have that kit.One last question before i go install,is it better to install the tune first and then go back and modify it and reinstall?Or just modify the tune first and then install? Thanks for the help
6.1L CRATE W/ 3:06 GETRAG 08 R/T
why would you remove the egr??? its there to help your motor and reduce emissions... it is almost never on and it's a $10,000 fine for removing it!
2005 Dodge MAGNUM RT 13.8 1/4, 100.7mph trap (gone... for now)
1974 Plymouth Duster, daily...
slow engine
slow transmission
slow wheels
When you install the tune it should ask if you want to modify the tune and then reset the parameters. Then pull the fuse for 30 seconds.
As for the emissions and deleting the egr that is owner's choice and if you are worried about it, don't do it. For those of us that have put a performance cam in I look at it this way the stock SRT8 cam was spec'd to eliminate the need for an EGR system. A cam can be spec'd to do the same as an EGR system.

Nother one bites the dust...
On a serious note, we will most likely remove the EGR delete option and rear 02 delete in the next revision due to more stringent regulations from EPA, we want to stay in business and continue to serve you guys. It will always be a custom tune option though.
